Monster Energy Supercross 4 comes out on March 11th on current and next gen consoles as well as PC. Today, we take an extended first look at the career mode in the game and try out many of the new features including Supercross Futures which is new to the game for 2021. Enjoy!

I feel like this career mode would've really benefitted from giving Futures the actual amateur feel. Maybe couldve given us the option to start on supermini's for that, but if not at least have it be during the day without the massive crowd so its a little more underwhelming. Then when you get to the actual Pro series it would feel a lot cooler and like you really progressed. Just my opinion, I'm still going to play the game anyway.

gameplay looks a little better. Gotta be honest though, I'm not pumped on lack of gear choices. I'm going to chalk it up to COVID causing constraints that Milestone didn't see happening for MXGP2020 & SX4. Though, when MXGP21 & SX5 come out, I really hope they fix the issues that are here. If they get an option to renew contracts for gaming rights. they need to make it every other year so they can hone in on a game. i'd be perfectly fine waiting another year to get more tracks, more gear options. I'd personally like to see the game release & just do DLC updates every year (I.E. when 2020 ends, there's a patch or DLC they release that updates to 2021 with riders on new teams, new numbers) that upgrades everything. You still have access to the 2020 tracks, but it updates everything else.

Dont know if anyone will see this but the last game like this i played was ATV Offroad Fury 4. I consider this one of the best games of memory when it comes to games like this. I wish they could leave tracks from previous years in the game. It would be really cool to progress through the classes through multiple years. For example you run the tracks from 2 for futures and then tracks from 3 for your 250 career and then run the most recent tracks for your 450 career. My issue is, I hate running three or four seasons on the same tracks over and over. I know it’s a lot to ask though.

These games would be so much better if they just focused on details and feedback. Futures being during the day (almost never at night), same arena but smaller track, fonts for numbers/proper scaling, if no ruts at least inside lines (much like mxgp2020). It’s so frustrating that every year I see the same mistakes. More so when they add features that aren’t done well or accurately.

As you mentioned, Arlington is built incorrectly. It seems like some of the tracks were built purely off of the track maps without the tweaks that are done when the track is actually built by Dirt Works.

I got the game yesterday...the turning SUCKS! Bike is way too heavy when trying to turn, slides off course unless you pretty much stop. Then it flips around uncontrollably. I hope they change it and send out a patch.

For real I have a hard time getting over the smallest of jumps. It’s like I’m riding in mud, then sometimes randomly the bike just takes off, I don’t get it. The “very easy” ai is passing me like I’m standing still.

The Whip requires the bike's frame to be 180 degrees min. sideways. Either way you do it.

Hey Kellen, so a while back u said they told u they were adding a feature where u could adjust the stats of the ai riders. Am i right to assume thats not actually in the game? Was looking forward to something like that so u could make the championships and races more fun and immersive. For example making Tomac have bad starts but op speed and then make certain riders much better in the whoops exedra. Bummer if its not in there cuz a feature like that would take career to the next level.

To what? The hardcore motocross fans? That’s not who they are selling to. While it’s maybe who they should cater to, they will likely sell more copies by catering to the casual 8-year-old than they will to anyone else. Make it so any slight mis-calculation results in instant crashing and the game becomes unplayable for that audience. Again, I wish it was supremely realistic, but I also get why it’s not

You've obviously never rode a real dirtbike with great suspension! Watch James Stewart launch wall jump at Daytona. Its on KZbin! Overjumping at that level doesn't result in wrecks either. Games pretty spot on in the perspective

That's a good question. We haven't got an official DLC schedule just yet, but if it's like past games I think it's worth it. History has shown you spend $20 in advance for basically $40 or $50 worth of stuff

Seems like some tracks the AI are way too easy to beat and some they are quite challenging. I think once you're very good at the game, it won't be too hard to beat them everywhere though

Not sure about madness but yes it has injuries. I dont think it tells what you injured. Just tells you that you're hurt you can pay to heal injury or ride injured for a couple weeks with stat penalties.
