Yes, we were both having a wonderful time out there and I was very much looking forward to the racing with the Hobao trucks and they did not disappoint as both were screaming around the track and making one heck of a dust cloud! Driving the groms around was just as much fun, slightly less impressive on video but in person we were laughing more at them! It was a great day and I am going to have to make time to go over for track time more often!

Yeah, we got a little wound up a few times and sent them full on down the front stretch and ran out of track at the turn! I am glad Al staked the pipes down well down there LOL! It was super dry, it was supposed to rain a little the day before which would have been perfect but no luck. It was a great time and these Hobao trucks are a lot of fun and proven to be really tough as they both made it out alive from our "racing" without any damages. I give them a huge thumbs up! The groms were just as much fun in person, not as exciting in the video but we drove those little guys for close to 30 minutes and were laughing the whole time!

HoBao is very underrated, I got my first 1/8 nitro Cage Buggy back in 2012 in Australia. Now Im in Malaysia I just done a diff oil, shock oil. 150ml fuel tanks CV upgrade and a few fresh nuts n bolts now it looks and drives like new. It's nice that new parts and hop ups are still available.

I am super impressed with these trucks! Both of them took a lot of abuse and neither had any issues, mine did pop a steering linkage from a bad hit but it popped right back on and kept ripping! A solid platform and so much fun to drive. I have heard good things about their other kits as well. It is good to hear you are still rocking the old buggy and you are still able to get all the parts for it, that is becoming harder and harder to do, seems the support lifespan now is the length of time they make the kits and as soon as they stop making that version whatever parts are in the wild is al there is going to be! Good to know they are supporting their lineup!

@AddamsPlayground there ks great support I have no problems using parts even HoBao USA factory has everything you want. It's a Taiwan brand so most think it's Chinese, but there are different countries some people do t travel or are bad at Geography 🤣 My engine is 12yrs old and still rips hard preventive maintenance on any RC is the key. I hope you get another sire you will enjoy it. Glad you guys had fun racing it looked like a good day out.

Yes! We had a great time together out there! It was a blast ripping the trucks around there and his track is much more suited for the big fast ones, mine is too small! The trucks held up great to the racing (abuse) and i will be going back for more before it gets too cold here!

We had a terrific time out there and there is more to come, I have to finish editing all the bashing around in the field footage still. His track is much bigger and way more suited for these fast and big trucks, I knew buying the Hobao it was primarily only going to get driven over there. It was a ton of fun so I am going to have to find the time to go over more often for sure! He has plans of expanding the track a little more sometime in the future so it will be even more fun!

It was a great time out there and we had as many laughs as we did crashes, which was a lot! LOL! The Hobao trucks ran super well out there and it fun to run them head to head. We don't have a lot of same cars and trucks to put up head to head like that so these were extra fun.

Yes, there was much more power than grip out there but it was perfect for creating a lot of dusty rooster tails and tons of laughs! Even the little guys were a blast to drive around and we probably spent close to 30 minutes blasting the groms around. It lacked a little excitement in the video compared to the Hobao trucks screaming around but they were just as much fun in person!

Yeah, his is at least twice the length of my track if not 3x longer. Most of Al's buggies and trucks are 3-6s bashers so he needs a bit more real-estate than I do with my Tamiya kits! I'll get him over here for some short course driving at some point!

We had a great time out there sliding and banging around all over the place. More fun bashing to come, I still have a ton of footage to go through! It was fun getting out on a bigger track and getting to open it up. Even the little groms were a blast running around out there, we must have driven them for close to 30 minutes laughing and chatting the whole time! It was a great day for sure!

Those Hobaos are screaming, awesome sound, as far as I remember they have steel mod 1 gears, right? I didn't pay attention to who was driving which car, but they both seemed fast, were they similar in setup? They might not be perfect truggies for setting any lap records, but definitely looked like loads of fun, and also out on the grass! We had a blast all day running stuff. A lot of fun on the track with the Hobao trucks and the groms, in the video the big trucks were a bit more exciting to watch for sure but in person both were just as much fun driving around out there! The Hobao trucks were pretty evenly matched, Al might of had a slightly faster motor in his but in the loose conditions it just equated to more wheel spinning so overall same same. Yes, they have the heavy duty mod 1 gearing in them and both took a beating with no issues. Mine was the blue/yellow one and his was the purple/black one, not that it was easy to follow in the video at times with all the dust! LOL! The groms did seem like matchbox cars out there compared to the big guys but were just as much fun to drive!

Oh Addam, man! I am so so jealous! I wished I was nearer to you guys, so that I too could join in on the great fun! I learnt a little point from your video on how Al captures his videos. Judging by your video of Al’s cap, looks like it is purposely adapted to hold the action camera. It’s something that I’ve not been able to make out from Al’s videos, as he’s always going too fast 😂😂😊😊 @sparetimerc. It was a terrific day John, I wish you could be here as well! Ripping the trucks around the track, smashing into each other and the pipes was a blast and the little groms were just as much fun as the big guys were! The caps are made for the gopro cameras and work very well. The first time I went over I saw his hat and immediately found one on Amazon and ordered it! Makes it great for hands free filming and your head is going to track the cars anyways so it makes for a great cameraman substitute! I clipped out a lot of parts with the colorful exclamations in them, there were quite a few from me, Al is more of a gentleman and he has more camera safe language than I have when driving!!! LOL! We had a wonderful day and there will be more from my trip over there soon. Lots of ripping around the field with the big buggies and trucks as well as the bikes to come. I will also probably have a full reel of wrecks from it as well! Take care John and have a great weekend!

Hey Addam, thanks for the shout-out. It was a blast to take a few cars out and just let them rip, I think the HoBao TT2.0 did awesome out there (2 non pro's driving)😂😂😂. I had a terrific time out there and it was just as much fun ripping the Hobao trucks are as it was the little groms around. The crashes were a little less spectacular with the groms! I won't lie, that new Kagama 4s is mighty tempting, it looks great and just about the biggest thing I can run around here. The Kraton is a huge beast and so is that Smithmaster one!!! I did enjoy the Outcast a lot, that one was a fun to drive so I expect the Kraton will be just as much fun and just as scary to see it fly by at speed! LOL! It is cooling off over here now as well, we had the last few days of warm weather it seems and now it is a bit chillier! I will still be out in shorts and a t-shirt until it actually gets cold, I am generally always hot... that extra insulation!! So much fun...I could literally do that all day. As long as nothing breaks and I have a ton of charged batteries. That track requires the old knobby tires we all used to run in the 80s and 90s when the tracks were terrible. Makes me want to go drive some, unfortunately it's raining all weekend 😢

It was a ton of fun and we were out there for quite a while! Drove everything from the little groms to the big 6 and 8s bashers so it was a little bit of everything!! We have been getting rain on and off for the last few days here as well. Time to get some building and other tinkering done! I have been cranking out ornaments on the laser cutter to give away to friends and family this Christmas, trying to get a head start on it!

LOL, yeah were are just big kids with terrible self control issues really LOL! It is a much bigger track than mine or yours and more suited for these faster brushless rigs! He is talking about making it longer so you can build up more speed and really crash into the corners harder... not really, just predicting the outcome! We had a great time out there and so many laughs and crashes!!

It was so much fun and all the crashing and laughing was a great day of mental therapy! Surprisingly we rana ton of stuff and not one single failure (other than a wonky receiver which I can't count electrical gremlins!). We ran the groms around for close to 30 minutes and the Hobao trucks for more than 20 so yes, modern batteries are awesome!

Its always such fun to hook up with others and send send some cars out together,especially when its just friendly competition!! I am sure at some point the crew will get out there with ya for some racing. If not then enjoy some running by yourself! I prefer the cold weather, the plastics are not always a fan of it but I would much rather come home a bit chilled than come home all hot, sweaty and grumpy from the heat! Great video and great driving from both You & Al.... You think pro drivers could do better on the track with those "untuned" truggies?? Dry, dusty track, sport tires, nothing really tuned... You guys did a great job, though, sometimes a bit fast into the corners but I get it, wanna be first in & first out... Try again sometime with tires suited for the track, a bit of water on the track, some shock tuning, suspension tuning... I know, I know... "Run what ya brung" it was for fun.... Awesome job again guys!!!!

We had a great time out there and we had just as many laughs as we had wrecks and tumbles, which was quite a few!! LOL! We were supposed to get some rain showers the day before so it would have been ideal but we got no rain at all so we just made due with the dust bowl! LOL! Overall the trucks did well, the rambunctious drag racing to the corners did not aid in graceful driving but that little kind in your head makes you go full throttle to be first! LOL! I think with a damp track they would hook up a lot better and of course a bit more restraint on the go button! It was a ton of fun for sure!
