Racism is so sad. And fighting racism with racism makes us more divided as humans which is even more sad..

True but not always. Ik tons of kids in my school that would say hella messed up shit to me but wouldn’t dare to say the n word in front of their mother. For those kids they learned by their friends who do the same racist acts.

Had to defend myself against three different bullies during my school years. The school did nothing. Funny thing is that every year the school will have a anti-bullying presentation at the school assembly hall. That did not do anything at all.

NZ hides it’s racism too well because such ignorance is taught within family homes. We are not really an accepting country of the new other cultures which is wrong. It stems from the household’s we live in and the not so good common talk of cultural and religious belief’s amongst their own within their own families taught to the young minds of today. Truth is we are not kind and accepting to other cultures not of the pacific, and negative talk is done behind closed doors due to the closed minds of our people sadly. Awareness, acceptance and openness creates nothing but kindness in thoughts and action’s

What is said in the homes of minorities? How do you know somebody gabbling away in Chinese isn’t saying you are dirty or nasty. Why do we always attribute racism to white people?

Bullying is happening to all students since forever i used to be bullied because i had a tan one classmate used to say why are you so brown i was bullied because of the way i wore my hair kids are just nasty towards each other it won’t stop and unfortunately teachers and schools don’t take it seriously if only everyone could be nice to one another

Culture isn't race....racial discrimination is racism. Muslim for example is a religion. Language would be nationality or ethnicity. I guess we are doing well seeing as you couldn't find any real examples of racism, just bullying.

Bro, racial discrimination is racism. Insecure people bully because they are insecure, life is hard enough. The outcome is, what goes around comes around. If people are prepared to bully, discriminate, shame others because they're different. Bullies MUST be prepared that they may come across that one person that will challenge them and meet if not even defeat their match. Just get the hell along for goodness sake. Far out, people are afraid of things they don't know - being a friend to these kids would be pretty cool. Don't follow the bully who has deep insecurities - be the difference.

If you go to any other country in the world you will get some side eyes for speaking a language that isn't theirs or for needing a translator. I don't know why we have to have a victim party. I don't know why we have to see who's the biggest victim instead we should be overcoming any ignorance and moving past it. Feeding into this victimhood mentality is just making more and more victims competing for who is the biggest victim.

It shouldn’t happen in the first place. If New Zealand claims to be an acceptable country then why do you have racism!

@Bala Ganesh Yes, I’ve taught them to defend themselves, taught them how to fight and look out for one another, and if any other kid is being picked on, they should stick up for them. Telling a teacher does nothing, if you show a bully a bit of force, they’ll back down. Happened to me, I can tolerate a bit of teasing but as soon as someone would try to bully me, a show of force always stops them from repeating the same mistake.

Wrong wording bro, but understandable context, not easy when its happening in school where your tamariki should be in a safe learning environment. Kia kaha whanau.

@@Demoniser100 I know, a bit insensitive but the reality is, there will always be bullies. Gotta stand up for yourself or else you’ll become a victim.
