Thank you so much Joe for your service. I thought for sure that prejudice was out the door and it is a shame. A man can own a store like this and be so disrespectful for the vets that save this world. And I thank you Mike for understand what Joe went through and the vet set you have with you. God bless you all and thank you so much. I am about myself. Never went to war but I was honored to serve our country and God bless you all. Thank you

This is sad but also heart warming at the same time. How can some people say you're good enough to die for freedom but not good enough to acknowledge as a equal because of skin color. It's heart breaking that this still goes on to this day. At the same time it's wonderful to see people band together to change thing's

Kevin, this is so true. I am a veteran, and the grandchild of a WWII Navy veteran, daughter of a Air Force veteran, the wife of an Army veteran, mother of a veteran, and currently a grandmother of a Army veteran. Racism was never acted upon or discussed in my family. I grew up in the North, but had gamily in the South. After living MANY years of living on military installations here in the U.S. and abroad, I learned quickly that the MOST important people to me were the people in my home, and the people on these bases regardless of where they came from, or who they voted for, or the color of their skin, but the content of their character. We were all there for one main reason, to protect the country and terrirories we call home and inspire others countries to adopt this crazy IDEA of FREEDOM. We HAD to put away all prejudices if we wanted to keep that dream of "freedom" that so many others take for granted. Keeping America Free! Crazy as it may be, I'm willing to die for those crazy KKK, BLACK SUPREMISTS, IMMIGRANTS. Not just from COUNTRIES SOUTH of our borders, but from ANYWHERE around the world, for their right to live and be free. Because all we have are each other and our dreams for ourselves and our family, to be called American. 🇺🇸 Our red is blood, our white is purity and our blue is unity. Provided by those who gave and still give SOME, and those who gave and will still give THEIR ALL. @KevinHarvey-qw5mj

Im a 57 yr old vet and the way people behave today towards us in civilian clothes and the behavior and mannerisms are at a point of disbelief ! The younger generations have zero respect or clue what we have gone through and sacrifices that we have given for others freedoms, I might be younger than most vets but I always show respect and stand up for those who can not, I pray to the powers that be that these younger ones learn more respect towards those that have served one day a year is not enough !

This story deeply resonates with the painful reality that many have faced and continue to face in our world. It is a poignant reminder of the contradictions that often exist between the ideals we are told to believe in and the harsh truths of discrimination that persist. The moment when your son questioned why he fought for a country that could not ensure his safety at home is heart-wrenching and highlights the deep-rooted issues of racism that continue to plague us. It’s a sobering thought that, even after decades, the progress we’ve made feels insufficient. Yet, despite the heartache and loss, your enduring hope at 83 is both inspiring and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Your story serves as a powerful call for all of us to keep fighting for a world where such injustices no longer exist. Thank you for sharing such a personal and emotional memory-it reminds us how far we still have to go.

racism will always remain. Read about Esau and Jacob in Gen 25 and you will see why it will remain. 2 brothers but only 1 given the Promises to rule the earth. Of course Jacob the baby was given the promises and he is the one who is hated, murdered and oppressed. This is coming to an end very soon. Jacob will rule over Esau

You made me cry, as this story did too. My stepfather whom I love, is a retired veteran. Back in the early 60's while traveling through the south with other recruits on a military bus, they stopped at a diner. He was told to leave because they did not serve his kind. Now I have to tell you my dad did not understand. You see he was born in Puerto Rico, so this was his first encounter with racism. His buddies explained and walked out with him. They did not stop yo eat until they reached their destination. As long as we do not stay silent, we send a message, like those soldiers did loud and clear.

I really appreciate these stories! It's refreshing when someone confronts racism and bigotry for what it is. I'm from Salem, Oregon and fortunately, I have not experienced discrimination since childhood. I grew up in an affluent community and was the only person in my class who was of African American descent. I was picked on constantly because of the way my hair looked and it took me years to let go of the hurt this caused. Fortunately, we came to a new community and I have many friends who don't care about petty things, and who love me for who I am. Thank you for your channel!

This story brought back memories of a call from my 18 year old son from his base at Warner Robins Air Force base in Georgia. He and some of his fellow recruits had leave and wanted to go into town. The KKK was stationed outside the base and the Base Commander told them that he could not guarantee their safety if they tried to leave. My son questioned why he signed up to fight for this country when his country couldn't protect him and his friends right here. He is now a deceased veteran, but this story reminds me of how far we still have to go in eradicating racism and discrimination in America and around the world. I am 83 but don't think I will live to see it, but I am still hopeful.

Texas here. I have yet to find out who is writing these stories about racism and inequality.I hope many people are paying attetion to them and learning so very much from them. At my age of 70, and having seen, felt what racism does, I wonder how people in a supposedly intellectual world where many claim to be Christians, why is it that we still have racism? I prrsonally want to be more like JESUS. I have taken care of people from all around the world and I know we are all GOD'S children made in HIS image. How wonderful if everybody got on the same page and loved each other and if we took care of the least of these! Racism flies out the window when one is lying in a sick bed and is about to die.

Wonderful story for people to listen to I haven't found out who's writing these stories. But keep doing it because I do watch them. God bless everyone. Wow, this video is truly powerful! It highlights the injustice of racism while showing the importance of standing up for what's right. The unexpected witness adds a strong message about fairness and courage. A must-watch

Evil and injustice will always prevail when good men stand by and do nothing to stop it. It is difficult to fight for what is right Especially when you are out numbered. It is just as hard for logic to prevail over emotion, fear grips them, and it will not be denied. But, we always have a choice, no matter the consequence of our actions, it controls us or we control it. When doing the right thing is not an easy path, even the bravest of us have their time of of weakness. So, do not judge harshly for in fear We muster strength and in valor there is always hope.

I, too, would have left this establishment, but I would have made one phone call to an employee (a friend) of the HEALTH DEPARTMENT. I'm sure there would have been some reason for their license to be recinded.

I came back Vietnam went this type of situation in my home state. Traveling from California, to visit my Grandmothers in the small Texas town I was born in. I stop for fuel and a cup of coffee. In small border town went into a small cafe. There were a handful of customers. I sat myself at the counter. The waitress going backforward attending to the other customers. Finally as she ealked back toward the kitchen I asked her if have cup coffee, she said yes and continued going toward the kitchen. Thinking she would bring me my coffee, instead as she walked by said it's best that you leave. I fell like I been hit by a bolt of lighting. I walk out, because I short on time having only s few days before reporting to my next duty station. But, never had I experienced that type of racist.
