You must understand that people may 'feel' marginalised and that is their perception. It is not solely dependent on race or could apply to many other ethnic groups in NZ, old people, the poor, the childless, neuro diverse, rainbow community ,a list ad infinitum.

The Treaty is between 2 groups that no longer exist. It's principle of equality for all (not equity) still rings true. Those with Maori ancestors who spoke up were damn lucky to have the land issues addressed. Helen Clark wanted the Waitangi Tribunal to be wound up some years ago. Gravy train still chugging along accumulating more momentum. You'd think they would have pulled their necks in by now and counted their lucky stars but no, they want more and more and more..a bit of tough love should have been administered some years ago as the children have now got way out of hand. Amazing to see the transformation or reinvention of the former 'conservative' Maori Party (like the 'reinvention' of the Treaty) as Te Pati Maori, taken off on a skewed trajectory propelled by illogical madness no doubt trying to recruit new members on the way by blaming the 'pakeha' as the scapegoats for everything wrong in their lives.
