I consider myself pretty lucky to be one of Ben's friends, and am consistently blown away by the quality of work he and some of our other friends put out. And for the record, yes he really is as nice of a person in real life as he appears to be. Also, it's weird to think that over three thousand people have watched me vomit moonshine into a fire.

This sentence Hits hard. My brother is dead. Its us 4 girls now with a farm my dad will give us, like his father did. Many people say how bad it is for my father to only have girls and i absolutely hate it to say that i just have 3 sisters. And i hurts. I cant blame my brother. I'd just hope he knows that i'd pick every pain over not knowing that i have a brother. I'd never blame you. I love you. I miss you. Forever

Same. I lost my best hs friend to suicide a few years after I left for college. I've worked on processing and Maki g peace with it for years. This song brought it all directly back to my heart, Luke too was one that no one else seemed to see value in. We learned to play guitar together and generally did everything together those last years in school. God rest your soul bud. Thank you for sharing you talent and amazing songs Ben.

I had to put my 15 year old to sleep a couple days ago. I was so calm and cool about it, of course I was, right? After all he was just a dog. Then I heard this song. I didn't realize he was like my brother for all those years. My wife and neighbors hated him. When the line, "you would never have no worth, but you were always gold to me" hit me, I just lost it. I just broke down. It's too much

We were tight-knit boys Brothers in more than name You would kill for me And knew that I'd do the same And it cut me sharp hearing you'd gone away But everything goes away Yeah, everything goes away But I'm gonna be here til I'm nothin But bones in the ground And I was there when you grew restless And left in the dead of night And I was there when three months later You were standing in the door All beaten and tired And I stepped aside Everything goes away Yeah, everything goes away But I am gonna be here til I'm nothing But bones in the ground So quiet down We were opposites at birth I was steady as a hammer No one worried cause they knew just where I'd be And they said you were the crooked kind That you would never have no worth But you were always gold to me Back when we were kids We swore we knew the future And our words would take us halfway round the world But I never left this town And you never saw new york And we ain't never crossed the sea But I am fine with where I am now This home is home and all that I need But for you this place is shame But you can blame me when there's no one left to blame No, I don't mind Well, all my life I've never known where you've been There are holes in you The kind that I could not mend And I heard you say Right when you left that day Does everything go away? One of my close childhood freinds just overdosed from fentynal. Came back to this song it reminds me of me and him. He was always a little trouble maker, a rebellious guy with nothing but love. A lot of people would put him down behind his back for it, nothing ever could change my mind on him as a person i loved him like my own flesh and blood. Thank you for this masterpiece of a song.
@TheOriginalDalamanza9 жыл бұрын
This song speaks perfectly to so many of the best brotherly relationships presented in fiction. It's Thor, waiting for Loki to see sense and come back to his family. It's Dean waiting for Sam to give up his dreams of university and rejoin his family. It's Sam waiting for Dean to realise he wants a normal life too and come join him. It's 'a wonderful song of peace and acceptance, and of unconditional love even in troubled relationships. This song will always be gold to me :)

Unlike most of my loves, I can explain this one. This mad love I have for this band. They have excelled everything in my opinion. At least with me, they have struck every chord. Their songs' lyrics don't ask you to shake it off or love harder, but through every song, they tell you a story. A peek into another life full of emotions. And, so help me god, their music is amazing. On the top of that, they make such beautiful videos. I don't know what more I could possibly ask for. I am thankful to Blacklist for leading me here. :)

Maaaan.... I wish I could hang out with this dude. His songs hit home for me. Lost my 18 year old brother a few years ago. Feel like this illustrates not only his and my relationship. It then turns around and fits my older brother and my relationship perfectly as well. The lines about holes that he can't mend in his brother and how differently the view the home they grew up in. It almost bring me to tears everytime, but then everything goes away.

Ben, without changing your style, I wish you were on my country station. Also just want to say thanks for posting this material and for seeming within reach of the people you are serving.
