Many gun manufacturers that make 7.62X39 AR's use an 'enhanced' firing pin. It's a touch longer than the original. Mine came as standard equipment on my Windham Weaponry AR. Also I beef up the hammer power with a Hiperfire trigger. It has a special 7.62X39 double cam-over spring set. The hard primer problem is solved. I never had a failure after that.

I've had 2 custom X39 AR's and loved them. The firing pin and trigger spring are definitely key items for reliable ignition of X39. Duramag makes one of the more reliable magazines I've tried.

I just built a 7.62x39 and a 5.56 side charger from Bear Creek Arsenal. As of now the BCA 7.62 uppers all come with the new enhanced firing pin. A ton of fun for very little cash ! I have both ASC and Duramags , hopefully Ammo keeps coming down in price so I can prove them both out ! I have built a few rifles using BCA uppers without a single issue so... For those who don't want to invest multiple mortgage payments and still enjoy the AR platform, check them out.

I bought a rifle version of this back in 2016-2017ish. It was surprisingly reliable. I never had a single issue out of it and was 100% reliable. I ran ASC and C products mags. At this time frame you could get ARs really cheap. The smith and Wesson M&P 15 sport 2 tanked in price and a store traded me one even for my Radical 7.62x39. I’m now considering getting another 7.62x39 AR

I enjoy your presentations. As someone below mentioned, the almost therapeutic cadence and quality of your voice is a nice change as compared to many YT gun folks. I have an AR in x39 from Radical. 16". Had it probably 4 years. Still not a single issue with it. I recently picked up 12" and 7.5" uppers from PSA. Haven't shot the 12". The 7.5 is a ton of fun with a linear compensator on it. Most of my ARs are built on lowers labeled as 'PISTOL' to avoid complications with the local constabulary. SBA3 with a 16"? No sweat. Same with a shorty; "Let me see what you have there, Sir." Rifle stock with a shorty? Well, let's just not. I shoot the AR shorties in 5.56, 6.5G, 300AAC, and 7.62x39. Big fan of them! Keep up the great work!

Glad to hear the bugs may have been fixed on it, been tossing around about purchasing one of their 7.62 but I'm alittle concerned about their BCG. I have a 10.5 556. of theirs and it runs flawlessly, hoping they have gotten better on QC with their 7.62 firearms since the last video that you posted 3yrs ago when you recieved one.

I set out to build a 7.62 x 39 AR-15 after seeing a Facebook post by Sons of Liberty Gun Works telling people they didn’t want a 7.62 x 39 AR-15, here’s the problem I didn’t want one until I saw that meme 🤣 So, I built one exclusively using SOLGW components and parts except for the barrel, bolt, and muzzle device, as well as sourcing some items they normally sel, but through other sources when they were out of stock. I used a 10.5” barrel and matching bolt from Faxon and an FCD 6310 KM muzzle device. Things I learned along the way with this build were: 1: Faxon barrels QC SUCKS. I went through three barrels before I got a good one. 2: The 20 round C-Products Dura Mags are the only way to go in this caliber. The thing runs.

I’ve used two BCA 7.62 x 39 uppers and after replacing the firing pin and spring with the enhanced versions they both run flawlessly with all ammo I’ve tried. Seems to be a common problem with AR47s. Hammer springs on AKs are quite a bit heavier than ARs.
@thenotorioussk3 жыл бұрын
I tried that with a BCA 7.62 upper- did the buffer spring, buffer weight, hammer spring, enhanced firing pin, tried different magazines... nothing worked for me. It would only run American brass cased 7.62x39... and most of my stockpile is combloc surplus. Disassembled it and it sits in my parts boxes now. So disappointing for the price of the upper, wish it would have worked.
@RARufus3 жыл бұрын
@@thenotorioussk That's strange. All I had to do was the enhanced firing pin and extra power hammer spring. I didn't touch the gas or buffer at all. For mags, there are some mags that don't work well. My cousin had some cheapish that didn't feed worth crap but I've had good success with Duramag and D&H mags. The D&H mags don't have an anti tilt follower but I haven't had issues so far. I've run three types of ammo in mine without issue: wolf, red army and barnaul. I've not run anything else so far.

CMMG, Palmetto State Armory, and Billet Rifle Systems are the only ones I know of that make AR-style lowers that take AK magazines. However, the dimensions of an AK mag are different than an AR mag, so a 7.62x39 AR upper is not compatible unless you modify it to take AK mags.

I'm looking at you Q, BCM, Geissele... Can you just make a hat for someone under the age of 60? Every time I buy something from one of these companies, they give me a hat that'd just be embarrassing to wear around. So, I just end up giving them away to old people. (Note: Ivan, this is no judgement on you for wearing that hat for the sake of sponsors, but I had to do a double take because I thought you drank from the wrong grail at the end of Indiana Jones)
