No, no, no. Firstly, I hope you all realize this is not an actual trailer or even a Universal-approved "First Look." That said: 😮 1.) The comment about Dorothy was cryptic; it doesn't mean we'll actually _see_ Dorothy aside from cleverly-photographed-and-edited scenes that hide her face. Jon Chu's become very adept at discussing the films without giving too much away. There's also the fact that as far as the second film, they're taking more risks. The first Act in _Wicked_ has always been the stronger of the two as it has a much more linear plotline and is primarily set in two major locations: Shiz and The Emerald City. It's by far the easier half to adapt. 2.) Act 2 is an entirely different beast altogether. It takes place after a time jump and while it remains at its core the story of Elphaba and Glinda's relationship, it focuses more heavily on tying all of the loose ends to the story and the characters we love from _The Wizard of Oz._ This presents an even greater challenge than the first film, particularly as to the film's pacing. In the Broadway production, Dorothy is only portrayed as an offstage voice and later as a silhouette on a curtain. When asked about Dorothy as she will appear in _Wicked: For Good,_ Jon M. Chu has stated he's considered leaving the image of Dorothy up to each audience member. This is Elphaba's story, after all. Dorothy plays an important role, but I think any additional glimpses of Miss Gale will be only as Elphaba follows her along her journey, either from above them as she flies above the Yellow Brick Road or from the vantage point of wherever she stalks them on their way to the Emerald City. I think it would be amazing if the one shot we actually see of Dorothy close-up is taken from Elphaba's point-of-view the exact moment the little girl throws the bucket of water. If we see her face at all, it's quickly obscured behind a slow--motion wall of water. 3.) It's been confirmed that of the two additional songs (I could swear there were as many as _five_ new songs in the past) that have made it into the final cut of the film, one will be performed by Elphaba and the other Glinda. Though I'm not holding my breath, the first film's trailer dropped during the SuperBowl last year. Though I doubt we'll get anything quite as significant, a girl can dream....

I wished they had kept her the same age as the Book and not a twelve year old like they did in MGM, a younger Dorothy would be more sympathetic and it hits harder for Elphaba to do the stuff she does to her and Toto, but having yet again a 16-18 year old Dorothy Gale isn't much of an under dog for the Witch of the West.

Tbh I don’t think she should because Wicked is not about Dorothy. It’s more about Elphaba. While Dorothy was the one to “kill her,” in the musical her silhouette is only shown because it wasn’t a huge part of the storyline. I do think she should be featured for a few minutes, but not for a song.

It hits differently seeing it on screen because they can DO so much more than on stage. Plus since part 2 of the play is a lot shorter than part 1, they are gonna have to add filler likely. Some things like Nessa walking, I assume will be different since the actress really is in a wheelchair, I dunno how they will handle that... I actually had a dream I was watching For Good, and the shoes didn't give Nessa walking ability, BUT they made it to where she was TOTAL FUNCTIONAL in her chair without needing any help from anyone, like she could go up and down stairs, and do WHATEVER anyone else could
