CNHL have been my go-to pack for a few years now, predominantly for EDF and large electric air applications, although now sourcing some smaller cells for boats (spinning a prop through water draws current like nothing else lol). You are probably aware of the battery testing on RCGroups, where CNHL perform well in some years, but not so much in others. And therein lies the rub, right? We cant know where brands are sourcing their cells from and our favourite packs may not be consistent from year to year. At the end of the day, all I expect is a fair price for a fair battery. Testing like this goes a long way to enabling those sorts of decisions.

A bit weird that the HRB didn't surpass all the other brands, I've used all kind of Lipo packs brands and HRB proved to be top quality & performance, HRB cell tabs are connected in series by spot welding as opposed to all other brands who cook the heck of their cells while joining them by soldering, and it definitely shows in form of *major* inconsistency of internal resistance. Don't ask how I know their insides, (spoilers: I've crashed many, had to open the wrapping) My 6s HRB packs I've had for 4 years still perform incredibly well. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. Happy racing Ryan, All the best!

Nice! I have a couple of the 5500mah 3S 120C bricks from Zeee and I'm happy with them so far. People are saying they are actually around 80-100c but that's plenty more than the 50c 2200mah packs I was running. Good for bashing, but I'd think you would want to match your C rating and Mah so you don't have too much draw or not enough 'gas' in the tank for speed running.

Measuring the internal resistance of batteries is a sensitive process. Accurate measurements are not possible using the thin balance cable. You must subtract the resistance of the cables between the meter and the battery from the value obtained. Since you do not take this into account, you are constantly showing the internal resistance of the batteries as higher than the actual value.
@RCexplained3 ай бұрын
What is the risk in showing the internal resistance as a higher value than actual?
@cue0311 ай бұрын
Great info. But if we know for sure that the numbers are especially exaggerated when getting 100c and above why not make test on the lower battery pack. Lower being those being marketed as simply 30c back and say 5000mah or 6000mah or whatever. Would the lower C (which generally also means less cost to our wallets) is a better and more realistic purchase? Maybe the lower C packs outperform their ratings. Or that could all be wishful thinking. Anyway you can test some of the spektrum smart batteries? Maybe the g1 packs since they have balance leads. But the g2 packs offer options up into the 120C range and pretty large mah capacity.
