I love the way this band play. ed is laid back and relaxed, Thom is in his own world completely, colin closes his eyes and just grooves, Phil either completely keeps his calm or goes mental, or somehow both, and Jonny attempts to murder his guitar

"Perfectly Precise and Never Showy" That should be Phil Selway's autobiography. That said... in the rare cases where he gets a chance to throw in fills, they're tons of fun. Even early in their career his fills were solid. He seemed almost like Max Weinberg in the lead-in to the coda on Blow Out.

I do not Understand What it is I've done wrong Full of holes Check for pulse Blink your eyes One for yes Two for no I have no idea what I am talking about I'm trapped in this body and can't get out Oh, oh Make a sound Move back home Pale imitation With the edges Sawn off I have no idea what you are talking about I'm trapped in this body and can't get out Oh, oh Has the light gone out for you? 'Cause the light's gone for me It is the 21st century It is the 21st century You can fight it like a dog And they brought me to my knees They got scared and they put me in They got scared and they put me in All the lies run around my face All the lies run around my face And for anyone else to see And for anyone else to see I'm alive I've seen it coming I've seen it coming I've seen it coming I've seen it coming

As much as I love this performance, i hate that Thom throws the "I've seen it coming" in such a passive and kind of seductive way. It just doesn't feel right. The studio version ending, so raw and powerful "I've seen it coming" is the right way in my opinion.

That guitar riff that starts this song got me the first time I heard it, and I assumed it was at least two instruments. I slowly got into more and more parts of this song and now its probably the best one I listen to. The crazy thing is that the lyrics are about mind/body connection issues (I should've read into that from the title) and that's something I come to realization every time I pass a mirror or remember that I'm taking up space. I normally don't care much about the lyrics but fuck is this relevant to me.
