I think this very well may be the best live performance of Burn the Witch to date.

I agree. The early live perfomances would need a backing track or otherwise be pretty close to the rocking version that was workshopped back in the early 2000s. Great energy, love the percussive feeling of it. The strings in the studio version give it a much more angular, dissonant feel that I absolutely love. It's the closest we've had to Jonny incorporating his PTA scores into RH's music, and it's hard to create THAT much noise out of only 4 guitar/bass players. This performance is the closest they've gotten IMO, and it's amazing to see how much moving around from using a bow on his guitar to the ondes to the keys that Jonny has to do to make it happen.

@@ScooterMcGrawI think he’s just old, he’s been screaming in his 30s and relying on his falsetto in his 40s. His voice is definitely screwed up. Not to forget his drug and alcohol use in his early performances. Bending Hectic and Lotus Flower are my fave songs by him but the live versions suck 😂

I was at this concert. It was extremely cold and half/raining pretty much the entire time. I was surprised we got the performance we got. I know they probably have hot fans blowing on them or something but it was still impressive to see them operate perfectly in intense weather conditions.

My fave version of burn the witch is the live version. It makes me think of what it’s like to work in a government department. You can’t trust anyone, there’s always a witch hunt and they never burn the snitch, only the one made out to be a witch. And there is always a low flying panic attack.

Yeah I hate to say it but Thom’s vocals really spoil the overall performance. It’s a shame because everything else is spot on. I get he’s older but If he’s going to sing the songs like this I’d rather he something he’d singer better. Just sort of ruins it. Feel the same way when he performs paranoid Android live 2008 onward.
