Radiohead - Creep (Best Live Performance) Radio Ahead Forward, forward, call out the militia who fight for changing the way of two, you saw, with rusted teeth the incisors choir chomps at the bit to chop the umbilical, the button left to break the surface of tension and consume, opening doors with heads opening chores with dread, the wet behind the ears approach for tightrope talks and bedroom rejection, the mangled inspection of talking while talking, always the edge way selection, break me from this circle, the serpent eats it’s tail, the caddices of Mercury, winds it up, the Hippocratic bloated to fill a Grail, the true believer’s armoury, hit from all directions, the wild machinations, your Janus effect, I’ll turn to match, the horse whip tongue that scars the ego, the collected friends stare at anything but, the projected wear and tear credo, time to say no, time to say no. Fil, a classic that has left a mark on so many. #QcumberSquad #Radiohead - Fil, I’m off back to the study.

I think he was never in a relationship with this person, he was just a “creep” to them. He was that guy on the sidelines watching this girl for a long time and he knew she was way out of his league. “I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo… what the hell am I doing here? I don’t belong here” to me I imagine him at a party and he’s watching this girl he adores from far away knowing he will never get to be with her. This is such a classic song. Please do more Radiohead, if recommended: High and Dry, Fake Plastic Trees, Karma Police, Paranoid Android. Great reaction 👋🏼👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼💜🇨🇦

I'm wondering if the jaw movement in the beginning was because it was so cold. You could see his breath.
@moonglow27453 жыл бұрын
The jaw movement was because it was very cold there. I wish I was special, tool I don't belong here even since 1992. He was obsessed with a girl during his college years and followed her, but never had the nerve to approach her because he didn't seem good enough. When he saw her once in a concert he didn't handle it well. He's married and happy now.

The singer Thom Yorke was born with a paralysed left eye. He has had a bunch of surgerys when he was a kid.
@Cobalt-Jester2 жыл бұрын
He was collage/school. There was a girl who was perfect to him. He would follow her and spy on her. He thought she was just too special for him. Then at a party that he knew she'd be he had a few drinks for courage and went along. Then he thought more drinks needed, then more and more. In the end he was so drunk that when he finally went to talk to her he started to scare her. She then left the party to get away from crazy person... The song is how he was a person that could not live up to the standard that himself had deemed perfect. But he creeped around spying on her. Goes to party and scares her with drunken ramblings that she runs for the door. Then he's left in a party with all the cool kids where he doesn't belong. Also he doesn't belong in her perfect world.

Guitarist Jonny Greenwood said that the song was inspired by a girl that Yorke had followed around who showed up unexpectedly during a show by the band. According to Yorke, "Creep" tells the tale of an inebriated man who tries to get the attention of a woman to whom he is attracted by following her around.

Yes, one of the best live performances. I know Thom had a problem with alcohol rather than drugs but his mouth stretching is him def stretching his vocal chords ready for what he does next with them, I've watched the whole of this set and he only does this on Creep. Hozier does something similar when singing live in the subway in New York with 'Take me to Church' you see a quick mouth stretch ready for the iconic 'AAAMEN' Thom has always said that they hate this song as it seemed to overshadow all their other songs, as did Kurt Cobain with 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and both bands ended up hating playing their anthems but fans demanded it.

Yessss..!! This is such a classic for me 💖..Ahh the 90's 😁
@josebarreira6457 Жыл бұрын
This is so dostoiesvkian, a cry for help of course, but a very honest of one self. Every 90,s kid knows this one. I think this is honest to the core, but who never felt aside from someone, who who never felt lonely or unloved out of someone's league. Although your review is great, but according to Radiohead themselves and even Thom the relationship never took place, they the creep part was he was loving and admiring a girl from afar, who without her never knowing it, and keeping all to himself, and extrapolating his emotions and negativiness. Cheers FROM Portugal, and great band, and the 90s were crazy as fuck! great music, and a great vibes. Cheers

I've noticed quite a few people make the comments about his mouth movements, Thom does the mouth movements to stretch his jaw, as you'll notice he needs to do to sing the lyrics Run, Run near the end of the song also He has been described by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest and most influential singers of his generation!!!

I heard Radiohead's song Creep in 90's, I always liked it, because I felt like I didn't belong. Maybe he is just stretching his face muscles. I think he never was special and there was no relationship. Maybe he was just watching the girl from afar. He knows he can't ever have her? (According to Thom Yorke, “Creep” tells the tale of an inebriated man who tries to get the attention of a woman to whom he is attracted by following her around. In the end, he lacks the self-confidence to face her and feels he subconsciously is her.)

I was lucky enough to see these guys live at Summersonic Music Festival in Japan, back in 2003. Other shows had run past time and Radiohead - the main act - was given a note just before starting saying you have only 30 mins to play (very Japanese thing about sticking to timetables etc.). Thom Yorke held the note up to the camera so the whole crowd could see, screwed it up, threw it away and then played for almost 2 hours. We got to hear Creep as well - a song they didn't always play - and it was amazing. Still one of the best performances I've even seen, some 18 years later. Incredible band to hear live. Would love to see more Radiohead reactions!

The jaw stretching... No he doesn't do that usually, can see from his breath it's very cold. He's either warming up his jaw, because it's freezing, or he's trying to recover from clenching, as I've heard some suggest clenching is a side-effect of certain drugs, but I wouldn't know anything about that!

I don`t think the jaw clenching and widely opening the mouth is due to cocaine jaw. It is more likely to loosen up his jaw as singers like him probably get clenched/locked jaw/hurt jaw if you don`t do some heavy jaw movements. When he sings he opens his mouth SUPER wide so my guess that it is just mouth exercises so to he can loosen the jaw before doing the end bits of the song.

The lead singer wrote it about a girl in college. That he followed around trying to build the courage up to talk to her which later he was drinking and actually tried to talk to her but it totally creeped her out and embarrassed him. Which later at a show she was in the crowd and he saw her realize that the song was about her and it wrecked him.
