Super versatile band, like the Beatles. The piano melody in this song even echoes Sexy Sadie by the Beatles. The more you hear this song the more you like it and that’s super common with Radiohead generally. Even songs you dislike at first can have a tendency to grow on you.

I agree, I used to not like a song like "Nude" and now consider it brilliant.

Radiohead is pretty deep. It often takes several listens before the songs start to sink into your brain, but then they never get out. Very moody and evocative, and often experimental (one of my favourite of their songs, "Everything in its right place", is almost like a trance). They are very good, even if they do "borrow" a bit from older songs (The Beatles "Sexy Sadie" is liberally quoted in the piano on this track, and their song "Creep" does the same with The Hollies' "All I Need is the Air That I Breathe"), but bring so much that's new to the sound that they can get away with that. I'd suggest the songs "Bulletproof", "Fake Plastic Trees", and "Everything In Its Right Place" to get more of a feel for their music.

The day the album came out I went home and played it twice all the way through. Once while I was awake and again as I fell asleep just to let every track seep down into my subconscious and make it its home. I still love to revisit this album to this day. It’s brilliant.

Might wanna try Jeff Beck Freeway Jam. Hes a famous guitarist that recently passed. I think Wilburn will like it based on the drumming he does in the intro. I could see him playing on the track.

[Verse 1] Karma police, arrest this man, he talks in maths He buzzes like a fridge, he's like a detuned radio [Verse 2] Karma police, arrest this girl, her Hitler hairdo Is making me feel ill and we have crashed her party [Chorus] This is what you get This is what you get This is what you get When you mess with us [Verse 3] Karma police, I've given all I can, it's not enough I've given all I can, but we're still on the payroll [Chorus] This is what you get This is what you get This is what you get When you mess with us [Outro] For a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself Phew, for a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself For a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself Phew, for a minute there I lost myself, I lost myself

Direct inspiration from The Beatles Sexy Sadie and another song on this album, Paranoid Android, was inspirited by The Beatles, Happiness is a Warm Gun according to Thom Yorke, Paranoid Android's structure is patterned after "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" by The Beatles. Both are clearly a collection of other, shorter pieces of songs put together into one.

Their music doesn't speak to me in my 40s (I turn 49 in 2 days!) as it did when I was in my 20s, but this was one of those albums that I could listen to from front to back, every day for months, and it wouldn't get old.

Listen to Thom Yorke’s new band The Smile. He’s matured with us.

I’m the opposite: turning 48 this year and their music just started speaking to me about a year ago. It sounded whiny to me when I was in my 20’s. Now I get lost in it, in the best way. Also seconding the comment above. I randomly came across The Smile on NPR’s Tiny Desk a couple days ago. Had no idea is was Yorke and Greenwood until I recognized the voice a couple minutes into the first song. That song, ‘Pana-vision’ has been on repeat in my car ever since.

“Phew for a minute I lost myself.” Same. To our end probably. But I loved your reaction. I sometimes wonder why people hate “emotional music”. I worry we are all hiding from the real dread.
