I'm just coming out of a toxic relationship that lasted for 15years and basically killed my soul. Every time listening to this I'm sobbing. Weird thing is I actually don't miss the person, I miss myself. I have sold my soul to be somebody I'm not to please another person. Now I'm grieving on not getting to know myself better before. I wish you all the best.

I listened to In Rainbows in full a couple weeks back, this entire project was such a nostalgic, interesting vibe, basically felt the exact same way u did, coming from a metalcore background, I needed something different to break the cycle a bit, it's an amazing listen!

Once you get beyond 'Creep' it's like exiting the Matrix. I have the firm belief that Radiohead are the most underrated band of all time due to the fact that if you ask most people if they listen to em, theyll say "Yea the guys that do Creep?". Dont get me wrong Creep is a great song but in a way it overshadows the other 99 percent which are mostly all-timers. Try their album 'Kid A'. It will surprise you 🤘

In the Summer of '97, Id just done the Leaving Cert, and remember Dave Fanning playing "Paranoid Android" on 2FM every night. Id gone about 3 weeks having not seen my friends since school finished , and when I united with them, they were all suddenly gigantic RadioHead fans, because of the OK Computer album. They'd been avid metal heads in school, and suddenly RadioHead was bigger than Jaysus to 'em! I think brotha, "OK Computer" would be a good one to listen to, it was a huge shift in change for the band and indie music at the time. To be honest brotha, I never got into them, but respect and recognize their significance.

Truly a gem of a band like Tool, Deftones, and a few other bands that have an expansive catalogue of music with a wide range of sound and song structures that show that they're not one note. Radiohead and all of their members are solid songwriters and composers.

When I was like 22 or 23 I went through the same kind of thing where no albums were exciting me very much and I was kind of floating around a couple specific genres, but the same thing happened when I discovered Radiohead, and then Wilco shortly after. Highly recommend checking out Wilco - A Ghost is Born

Sounds to me like you need to broaden your horizons abit more with your reactions instead of listening to the same rinse and repeat metalcore bands because lets face it most (not all) of them sound the same and it would burn me out being subject to that all day. Veriety is the spice of life afterall 🙂

Mate, I’m sorry I’ve not seen your channel before and no clue what albums you’ve been asked to request previously that have turned you off music. The fact you’re giving things a go is great, shows you are open minded and that’s how you learn about what you do and don’t like. However it has also lead you to Radiohead and that’s probably the best thing about it. You can go through their albums (in your own time) and listen through from the start to their latest and you’d then appreciate how they evolved over time. Also touching on your experiences reacting to different stuff, as a 39 year old, I really feel like music has been dead since around 2010ish. Bar the likes of Arctic Monkeys and what not, it’s been pretty poor. I’d suggest you go way back through the 80’s and 90’s and you will not be let down.

@Irmelinis Жыл бұрын
Just don't do album requests as often? Like every three months, maybe. I can relate, I've been a reviewer for six years and you do get to a certain point where you get "picky" , like you level up and broaden your music taste and want/expect more. Not a bad thing, on the contrary. An album that is a masterpiece for someone else, might not be the same for you, because it's heavily dependent on when in your life you encounter the album and how it fits in with your mood/thoughts at the time. Find other things to do with your reaction videos? Analyze lyrics? Invite a guest? Do "reaction II" for albums you've reacted to earlier but now gotten into properly and can talk about more in depth? Just suggestions. You're doing a great job, you have the best reaction channel out there.
