This watch has a unidirectional bezel instead of a bidirectional. My mistake. The hiking must have taken it out of me!

The colour combination of the burgundy and bronze works really well! And that strap too! Great review again, thank you!

5:13 Bidirectional only rotates one way? Sure about bidirectional? I found no other mistakes as usual great video and amazing watch! Thank you.

The CAPTAIN COOK is such a GORGEOUS watch to see in person at a store, it just GLOWS- so much more beautiful than many other big brands!!! My FAV is the two-tone with green bezel and green dial!!! One day I will be able to get it, hopefully!!!

I'm only starting to get into Rado, but that is a great looking watch. Cool and different, with a great colour scheme.

5:19 - bi- directional means two way direction. This has a uni- directional bezel, meaning it turns just one way.

Hi nice video. I’m not a fan of that colour combo, but I’m a HUGE fan of the captain cook. I have the same watch in green, it wears small at 42, very short lug to lug. I can’t recommend the Captain Cook line enough to people who are looking for a watch in the $2000 dollar range.

Why doesn't anyone ever mention the Bronze Rado uses consists of Copper mixed with Aluminum. Hence, it stays shiny looking for much longer and doesn't patina as fast as the standard Bronze, which is Copper mixed with Tin that most other Bronze watches use? It makes a BIG difference when deciding which bronze watch to buy. Tudor uses a similar alloy.

I got the white captain cook and it’s a very fun watch. Blue and green dials are every watch on the market but the white always pops out and people ask what kind of watch is it.

The burgundy matches good with the bronze. Don't care much for Nato straps, but this one goes well on this watch.

Any metal bracelet options for this bronze watch? I have the blue bronze model and it’s tricky to find a metal or matching metal bracelet.

I have the green one on the beads of rice bracelet, mine is 200m not 300m, are there 2 different versions ?
@robitobi97402 жыл бұрын
Yes it is different ,200 m water resistance is a steel but 300 m is a bronze .

Ah right. Thanks for clearing that up.

I have had two of these now. The first was sent back because of the shocking time keeping and I believed was a badly assembled movement. The second one is not much better around -15 seconds a day. My Hamilton uses the same eta movement and is spot on. Fair to say Rado does not check or regulate these watches when sold and only regulate them under warranty after complaining to them which comes with the hassle of sending it off to do so. Another brand using low end cheap eta powermatic (C07.611) movements, slapping it into a fancy case. Probably cost cutting the quality control and checks before shipping them out to the dealers. I would recommend anyone to get one pre-owned or a big discount as it is not worth the retail asking price.

I like it. but its funny how important the depth of meters is for the ppl wearing them as desk divers. like when does anyone in the office go lower than 50m? they probably get to 8m in a pool at a hotel

Off White Slight Oyster Shell color. Just kidding. Is it a 21mm band size?

Is annoying that it has the same movement as Tissot watches that are around a quarter to a third of the price. If only they would go for a better movement more befitting this price category this would be wonderful. I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned.

looks awesome but to me it's not for the outdoors. I don't think salt water would be kind to bronze!

Give me 150, maybe 200 meters of water resistance for a slimmer case and keep the domed crystal. Forgetting that dive watches are obsolete, the vast majority of those buying dive watches don’t dive, the depth rating is effectively zero if the thing isn’t pressure tested as time moves on……. Recreational divers can’t don’t go below 40 meters anyway, 150 is plenty. That would allow for better proportions and the domed crystal which really is a big part of a vintage look Red numerals for the date complication was very popular back in the sixties. The Captain Cooks used red numerals, I’ve seen Subs with red numerals, legible, of the period

This is not the first time you provided confusing information about bezel directionality (also in Omega Seamaster 300 Professional video). Definitely space to educate yourself and improve here. Otherwise great review. Thank you for it. Imagine what if the date window was at 6 o'clock with inverted colors (background matching color of the dial). Only the pricetag repels me from the watch.

Nice watch, but Rado uses the mid tier powermatic 80 movement. While it's a great movement, my Certina DS has the top tier with the Nivochrome hairspray at less than half the price. Not a big deal for anyone that likes the watch, I own the green one on the beads of rice.
@tiagodvt2 жыл бұрын
I agree. I own a PRX and a DS Action Diver 38mm, and while I absolutely like the Powermatic 80 (mine are both performing within COSC levels), it doesn't belong on a watch costing more than 1k imo. Both of mine costed less than 650 each. Mido, Hamilton, Certina and Tissot are all using the same movement and costing way less than the 1k barrier. At the price of the Rado, it surely needs a 4Hz more premium movement. I personally wouldn't even consider it. I know Rado is better finished, I know it has a ceramic bezel (many Tissot, Certina and Mido do as well), I know it is made of bronze... but asking 2k for a watch with a 15bucks nylon strap and using a Powermatic 80 is absolute nonsense.

I was looking at the Rado CC, then realised it's "just" a powermatic 80 and started looking at Certina's (really nice) then a Rotary Henley automatic popped up on offer for £250 so went for that, lovely watch

Not sure where I would wear that, It’s too nice for hiking, and outdoors activities, but then again it’s not a nice dress up piece. It’s more of it casual dress piece. I wouldn’t waste my money on it anyways, I’m more of a atomic six solar powered quartz. Set it and forget it. Instead of regulating them, servicing them. My high-end citizens have lasted forever. But whatever floats your boat
