You are correct. Rado is absolutely massive in the sub continent especially in Pakistan and India. I was once with a businessman friend in Dubai and he was wearing a sub mariner but when we got to the Rado store he was more excited to purchase the Rado than what he had on the wrist. It is an aspirational brand over there.

My goodness, you have raised your bar regarding production value in style, in these videos. This one starts with a spectacular and well framed title page, your macro shots are fantastic, and it seems to me, young man, if you've got a lot of stylish clothing you are horsing around with. Seriously, you are establishing an upscale style to your videos, and it looks good. I love that you are reviewing these Rado watches, and that you did take time to note the rotating logo. You know, they have a patent on that and it has a secondary function beyond aesthetics... It spins on a jewel just like those in the rest of the mechanism, and when it stops spinning, get sticky, well the watch needs to be maintained because it's the same oil and the same ruby the rest of the watch uses. Really cool watches, great review!

I bought the 37mm special edition and I couldn't be any happier. The 37mm has a bigger appearance on the wrist than its dimensions and really love the fact it comes with 3 different straps. Rado made an excellent discision to look back at its archives and reissue this lovely unknown vintage and did so with great success. My biggest love about this watch which no one has mention is that the mesh bracelet can be adjusted to any size which allows a perfect fit on the wrist and looks so attractive on the wrist. Not many bracelets out there can do that!!

Rado is the most loved luxury watch brand in India because unlike Rolex, it is a bit more affordable luxury especially for the middle class. If you own a Rado in India, it shows you're doing well in life. A Rado is what is usually gifted during weddings as well. Rolex is also popular but is still limited to a very very small section of the society. I appreciate you covering Rado with so much detail because the brand is mostly overlooked in the horology community.

The CC is a beautiful watch hands-down. I've bought a 37mm (I have a small wrist) black dial with a steel bracelet as a perfect everyday watch. It's now one of my three most favorite watches in my collection, the other ones being the Tudor North Flag and the Omega Speedmaster Reduced.

I've got the 42mm green version, and it's amazingly light on the leather strap.if you didn't know you would think this was quartz. If your looking for a chunky diver then this is not it. What this is , is a beautiful proportioned dive watch that's elegant on the wrist, but still has that wow factor. And the leather strap is so soft, it almost feels like suede, but isn't. It looks great on the beads of rice too, but could have benefited of having some micro adjusts in the clasp. I know they wanted to keep it slim as possible, which they achieved, the clasp Hardly feels like you've got one. I actually cringe when I think I've owned some huge thick clasps in the past that weight more than this entire package. Rado make some great watches , they are very durable too. A perfect watch that could easily be your only wearer, because it's so light and comfortable to wear. And even though the case is highly polished, I don't think this will scratch very easily. I don't know what rado do with their metalwork, but they are probably the best in the business for their use of materials.

I agree. I've found thick bezels make the face smaller, as well as making it look smaller. I typically like 40-41mm, 42 can look similar if the lugs are short and if there is a bezel. One example of a 42 that *didn't* work for me was the Hamilton Murph, which I otherwise loved...

I'd have to spring for a 42 mm, part of the reason I'm into watches is to get lost in the dial and the designs of watches. The Captain Cook really blindsided me. I’m surprised they didn’t release it sooner. Now, that said, I wish there was a middle -ground version, maybe 39-40mm because the 37 seems good, but have to double check the size, but the 45 just seems too “Invicta-ish” in terms of size. Actually, I have a small wrist and previously stuck my flag at 40mm which is where most forums tell you to, but when I tried this on I realised how perfect the 42mm size is, especially with the 12.1mm hight. I bought it .... Diving watches have to have some presence, and here you can have it with a comfortable fit, and without the normal diver sense of “chunk”. I tried the 39.5mm Oris and for my wrist, it’s too small, but is also thicker and funnily feels more chunky. IMHO this is one of the best daily desk divers available, and I think it looks better then the Omega Diver 300m and the rather boring submariner. I really think it plays in that league, bar the new Omega movements which are superior. But the aspects of the design of this watch have created a diving watch which is noticeably Rado, smart and unique, which in the crowded dive watch space is a real achievement.

I bought the 42mm in green, very nice watch, the ceramic bezel and sapphire make it pretty shiny, but the color of the watch varies greatly with light, sometimes dark and subdued, sometimes brilliant emerald green. I bought with leather/deployment clasp and then got the beads of rice, both look great. The watch is fairly thin and relatively lightweight and wears very well. I wish the lume was stronger, and applied indices would change the retro feel but up the luxury. The main complaint though is the crown is too small, but I really only use it to hack the movement as it runs 5-10 seconds fast per day. I guess that is better than running slow because it is easier to correct. Power reserve is amazing, it rarely stops ticking while waiting for the next wear.

I'm Indian and yes Rado is pretty big here primarily because the quartz lineup is pretty cheap, so alot of people go for the quartz watches thinking they're buying affordable swiss luxury from 700-1000 USD. You will usually find women in this category. Next, I see men wearing automatics that max out 2000 USD after discount. This is a massive market for Rado. This one ticks so many boxes for me - like a highly domed crystal and that gloriously retro looking bezel. It also seems to be exceptionally well priced for a diver from a Swatch-group brand. The only thing I dislike is the fact that they basically put in the Powermatic 80, dropping the beat-rate down to 3 Hz. Maybe it's just me, but I'll gladly take "only" 40 to 42 hours of power-reserve in exchange for a smoother sweep of the seconds-hand.

I started my journey with higher end pieces. I love the ceramic tech one i have but i notice some imperfections on the high polished hands under close inspection.

Been looking out for this review! Been waiting to hear your thoughts brother 👍😎 I just got the 37mm special edition, keeping as a family heirloom

What size is your wrist? Is there a reason you went for the 37 instead of the 42? Thanks in advance.

@@thechameleon77 I went for the 37 to keep a more retro classic and if I ever have a daughter it would fit her wrist alright too. It fits me well too tho! Wrist is 7inch around or about 178mm (used soft flexible measuring tape)

@@thechameleon77 Unless you are a hardcore diver that needs a dive watch it does not make as much sense to buy a 42mm watch.

The first watch I ever purchased for myself was a Rado V10K around 2005 or so. I loved the thing but rarely, still do, but rarely wear it anymore. I don’t think I could ever sell it since it was my first “real” watch.

I was told by the sales assistant at the store selling Rado that the anchor on the dial uses the same oil/lubricant as the internals of the watch. He said the reason they do this is because it helps tell when your watch needs a service. When the anchor begins to slow down or stick in the one place it tells you that you need the oil/lubricant renewed meaning you need a service. Not sure how true it is but if it is it’s a pretty cool feature that people might miss

Beautiful b-roll Teddy, I prefer the gold dial, looks awesome in contrast with the bezel, hands and that little rotor at 12 o'clock. Well explained!

Im swiss..., and very familiar with the brand. But somehow i would never buy a RADO. To me they are somehow worn out....sorry to say no offense. But here in Switzerland i see barley people wearing them. Maybe older people with them old ass ceramic models. I would suggest to spend that money on a tag heuer or save 2000 more and start with a breitling or IWC. Ps. Great videos and explanation as always teddy!! You’re the man!!!
