I am not a watch expert and thru this video I am giving my personal opinion on this watch that I purchased from India. I hope it helps a lot of people that want to buy a Rado DiaStar.

A nice replica. An original Swiss made Rado Diastar will say Swiss to the left of six o’clock, and three Arabic numbers to the right corresponding to the watch model.

90 percent of diastars on ebay are fakes or frankenwatches, this because rado diastar is very loved and common model in asia.

Mostly rado watches are available in faque or first, second copy because of its popularity and we don't get geniune.

Just remember you get what you pay for. The Rado’s from India are most likely stainless steel cases not the original Tungsten that is scratch proof the hands are not the same not an original sapphire crystal you’re really just getting a knock off like you would in New York City on a street corner buying a Rolex. Same general idea. So buyer beware or don’t complain if you buy a Rado for $100. Happy hunting.

Hello, thanks for your post! This could be a 'Frankenwatch'; original case but copy movement. Or just a good copy, grade AAA as they say. With a cheap Chinese movement. I regret you didn't showed the movement in your post. You opened it so? But okay thx anyway. To be warned that cheap Rado's looking as the real thing, from India, are - as you told - 99% fake if the price is less than 100 USD. I bought also a Rado, in ... India. It was held for a week at customs, when it entered the European Union (EU). So really took there time to check. It passed and I had to pay about 44 USD taxes and fees. They must have stated it was a real Rado. Otherwise they are being kept to be destroyed. That cost is for the buyer, and also one of Rado's solicitors will write you to make a settlement. In general they ask about 250 USD endommagement. Did you know that? This in EU of course, maybe in US they have an another policy? So far my reaction. Good luck with this watch, and I guess you are having more watches, as me too, lol. Bey, greetings, David, Antwerpen, Belgium, EU. PS: am a Rado collector; and have some fake ones. Bought for real but for the that cheap price (eBay) being fooled was Okay, lol.

It may have been original but maybe the movement has been changed in the past. The actual watch itself looks pretty genuine.

Rado is super popular in India, Pakistan, and other parts of Asia. Is this watch supposed to be vintage or a reissue “The Original” version? If your watch was vintage, your movements needs to be A Schild 1885. Great looking watch

How about the case material, is it tungsten too? And crystal. Is it sapphire?

Upper anchor should move in any direction in original and i observe your watch anchor is not moving any side when you turn the watch upside down

If you check the video you can see the anchor is in different positions from start to the finish of the video. I have one and it's great until you open it the movement is a cheap Chinese DG2803, the rest seems genuine even the case top is tungsten and the anchor does move. I have genuine vintage Rado's and apart from the movement it's top quality, so great for spares if you have a beat up original.

Real is gold and will have the Rado logo on the movement and Swiss Made.

I've ordered other watches from India, the movement was definitely original (barely running) but the externals were very poorly copied or restored. You really never know what you're gonna get, but every so often, it's damn worth it.

Genuine Diastars have Swiss and model. Any Diastar with Swiss Made at the 6 is a counterfeit.

Sorry Orion, but you are wrong. First diastars edition said swiss made at six, and lack the Rado word engraved in the opossite side of the crown. I have one of these first edition, with original box and papers purchased in 1967.

Also one big giveaway is that a good portion of the watches from India are not made of tungsten. They are made of stainless steel. Which means they can be scratched

I don't get the point of buying a replica of anything. Who is the person looking to fool only themselves. If someone comes around and says is that a Rado? one has to choices to lie or to tell the truth. Either way one ends up with egg on their face.

Fake Rado is not the same as real Rado. You can buy a fake PhD degree from Dara, Pakistan but it is not the same as real degree.

All depend, as always are exemptions. Not this case but there are homage with better movement and materials that the originals. Usually models from 60s and 70s.

Well coming from a ignorant there’s no differences but let me start by telling you this cheap replica have a 1/8 of space inside the watch higher than original making it look more fat. The movement it’s a cheap Chinese replica making the movement even fatter than original the strap is not the same steel quality it’s less making it feel cheap and easy to bend and the cristal it’s not real sapphire it’s cheap mineral making the watch loose that beautiful diamond Colors reflection when the lightS hit on it. Simple horrible do not buy rado replica originals can be found down to 400 dollars use.

I have one it seems the serial number 03272158 at 1:09 must be the same on all as it's the same on mine. Mine has a DG2803 Chinese movement.
