I love it when he says "for me beach" and everyone thinks he said "bitch" and starts laughing ! And indeed Rafa you didn't play badly, you were great out there as usual. But I guess there was nothing you can do with aces falling from everywhere ! Hope you will have a nice time at the "beach" and come back stronger than ever.
@slickpast
@slickpast 10 жыл бұрын
I agree it was "beach" which meant Rafa needs something better to wind up and unload after that upset. It was not easy for him to lose in the homestretch of the tournament when his fans are expecting more from him. One thing was quite obvious though in Rafa this time at the Wimbledon, I think, and that is, he lacked the fire he had in the French Open finals against Djokovic. I am afraid he might have succumbed to the fact that Wimbledon may not be his cup of tea.

I agree with everything he said. Yes, congratulations are in order to Kyrgios, but as Nadal pointed out, when you're an up-and-coming player the mentality is very much that of 'I've got nothing to lose'. I believe he's a good player for sure, but as of now, I don't think he's anywhere close to being on par with Nadal. In Nadal's case, however - which is pretty obvious if you consider all the comments below and on social media right about now - people point out flaws more than anything else and project negativity onto his game. Nadal's being beaten by Kyrgios doesn't take away from the fact that Rafa is one of the greats. No, he didn't play 'badly', but that sure wasn't the best tennis I've seen from him. As for Kyrgios, I guess we'll see.

Nadal is really good, but in this case you are wrong mate...Nadal hardly accepts the opponent was better than him...

OMG Federer lovers LOL if you don't like what i said, tough! it's my opinion. Nadal is a very classy winner and loser unlike Federer, when he lost to Nadal in Australian open and cried like a baby. Federer has no respect for his opponent when he knows they are not in the top 10 ranking because he mocks them in court making cheap trick shots, unlike Nadal he gives his 100% best no matter who he is up against. we can go on and on about this you guys like Federer who is a loser and I like Nadal who is a classy player.

Yes, he's disappointed... yes, he thinks he played well but his opponent played better at some points... yes, he congratulates his opponent and wish well and hopes he keeps improving... and he's going to the beach cause there's nothing he can do. As an ardent Rafa fan I am obviously incredibly disappointed with this loss, and he put up a good fight, but Nick played some sublime tennis and was able to dominate in the majority of the rallies. What would be a waste, however, was if Nick was to go on and lose this next match against Milos. Let's hope he can carry this momentum forward and, for me, hope that Rafa can come back stronger and defend his title at the USO when it comes. :)

As most always, these players (women and men) can not back up an upset win with a good performance. It is the best bet to go against them. Anyway, the Oz kid should be in the top 10 next year at this time. When you can serve 40 aces at 230km, you don't even have to always be good in other aspects of the game. You can win Wimbledon with just a serve (Krajek, Ivanesivic etc).

Lol Nadal beat federer at 19 in the french semis to win his first slam unlike for kyrios to do so as it would be a monumental effort to win another three against these guys but if he plays like he did he can beat anyone how long he stayed at that level was the most impressive but now he has to do that match by match year by year to become a great like Nadal he's got a good chance of doing that

***** He is the greatest ever. And yes, when you've played better and you lost it means you were unlucky. And the balls that were hit were aces from Kyrgios, so does that have to do with Rafa's level. Kyrgios doesn;t play like that usually, today was his best day. Many things were out of rafa's control which didn;t go his way and still he was the better player. So he was unlucky.

Unfortunately Nadal didn't do so well at Wimbledon as I hoped but thats tennis. Also he has been unlucky with the draw in slams this year playing huge hitters. At AO he had a brutal draw while here he was given a nightmare opponents. Congrats to the aussie kid who played well. These loses are becoming so frequent on grass now I think Rafa might want to rethink if he should enter Wimbledon after win RG in future years. Time for Montreal and Cinci now !

Man, Rafa is really hurt this time. He didn't use his usual phrase "you know it's sport, you can't win always, every thing is fine". Even a tad sour toward NK, and his "advantages" in achieving that task. "He could be a good player" with nonchalant and uninterested tone. To be honest, I didn't appreciate this interview too much, and yet I can't help feeling sorry he's out before the most exciting stage of the tournament.

A great tennis player cannot rely on his serve to win him the match, in order for you to be a true legend at this sport you must be able to perform brilliantly in all aspects of the game which is where players like Novak, Roger, Andy and Rafa get to where they are in this amazing sport alongside legends like Agassi, Sampras, Borg and Lendl. Before the match with Rafa Nick stated that he was going to depend on his serves to get him past the tough moments which almost goes against what this sport is meant to do, Nick lost to Milos the round after...

I personally thought Rafa played well considering he had absolutely no chance in the returns. Rafa got broken ONCE the entire match yes ONCE and LOST. In the big tie break moments Rafa became passive and reactive which cost him. It also seems to me when Rafa loses the comments sections on forums or KZbin videos increases by hundreds from previous days its incredible how many want to see him lose and laugh when he does. It more or less shows how successful he is

Nadal is extremely lucky that Roger got mono virus in 2008. When Roger was healthy, Roger dominated injury free Nadal. When Roger was used to Nadal's style and was not sick(right before He got sick), Roger Federer dominated Rafael Nadal by beating him 6 times in 8 last matches right before 2008 when federer got sudden unfortunate illness and Nadal never took number 1 spot from Federer in 4years before Roger got sick. Even Federer almost beat Nadal in rome masters which would have made it 7-1 and tied total H2H 7-7, even whithout Rome Masters, if Federer didn't get sick in 2008 He would have leaded Nadal in h2h by much now according to their real talents. Roger even after He got sick have been dominating Nadal in 2500 masters series by 5-0. this is real difference between Federer and Nadal. Roger is the king of tennis and Nadal is no match for Roger Federer. Nadal only got lucky and took advantage of sickness of Roger to win bunch of tournaments when Roger got sick.if Roger had not get sick, Nadal would not have won any 3 slams outside of french and Roger would have leaded H2H against Nadal by 35-9, just like Roger dominated Nadal by 6-2 almost 7-1 right before He got sick in 2008 and got better than Nadal even at clay to be honest. this is when both peaked and completely healthy and used to each other's style and Roger dominated Nadal 6-2 and almost dominated 7-1 if he had won rome masters. And before Federer got sick in 2008, Roger gave Nadal a bagle game in the clay court and He almost beat Nadal reaching match point in rome masters but He got unlucky at the end missing the chance to dominate Nadal to lead 7-1 the last 8 matches they met before Roger got mono illess, so Federer would have dominated Nadal on clay if the sudden unfortunate illness didn't stoped him. Roger just lose a lot of matches on clay to Nadal at first time because Federer just wasn't used to Nadal's unusual play style. So, H2H Federer7-1Nadal is their real score in the normal conditions. this is again proven by sickend Roger leading 5-0 in 1500 masters series which is real difference between the two. eventhough Roger's talent is inmeasurble that It makes even Nadal's great defensive talent talentless, Nadal with a lot of lucks and style match against Federer, Nadal has acomplished records that He doesn't deserve with his defensive lesser talent However, even that lucky record of Nadal cannot even dream of coming close to the record of Federer which was with a lot of unlucky situation and illnesses. Roger Federer is this much dominant player!!! before Federer got sudden unfortunate illness, He won almost everything even with the beast called Nadal in competition. Roger still lead H2H against Nadal on all courts except for clay courtt. Imagine If Roger had not got illness in 2008 and his prime time went as far as it normally should.
@KainSwiss
@KainSwiss 10 жыл бұрын
Yes your right about the illness, I watched that Wimbledon 2008 final, and for me it was the turning point for Nadal's dominance. Had Federer been healthy he would have easily had more majors. He didn't come back quite the same Federer! Hell I even remember the commentators saying for a joke, "I wonder which Federer will turn up today" I also remember Federer hardly miss hit a ball on the forehand or backhand. People just got to remember age is an important factor. Federer shouldn't be playing this good at the age he is now! The only other player to be ranked in the top 5 before retiring was Andre Agassi and even he dropped out the top 10 at some point!

Don't you feel ashamed to get beaten so many times and still find excuses for fedex. On top, fedex won most of the grand slams when field was free without any top players having the quality that nadal had to play against and win. Players like Djoko, Murray, Wawrinka and other good players. Fedex won 6-7 grand slams when none of these players including Nadal who was in his early days.

Disappointing post-match pc I must say. Rafa doesn't need this negative and patronising attitude. He is still #1 and a great champion. Have some more respect for new players. When Kyrgios serves with great speed on his 2nd serve it means that he is taking risks. Especially on grass that can be beneficial. Toni should coach Rafa more in that aspect, he plays too defensive on grass. In other words, he plays gravel tennis on grass. He deserved today's exit whereas Kyrgios deserved to win.

Rafael is a great champion ~~ but he cannot win them all. Neither can all your other idols so get over it people. Can't have a decent conversation on the internet with all the freaks and haters. And yes Niki "Dimitrov" fanboy .... you are one of them. So OCD

This is similar to when Federer beat Sampras in 2002. Emerging talent beating a tennis legend on the world stage.

The thing is... the thing is that Rafa Nadal, outside the clay, is another brick in the wall. He demonstrated he doesn't deserve to be a legend. He is a disaster in the grass.

Rafa as always very humble, but he played really bad.. anyway congratulation to Kyrgios he played match of his life, problem is that Rafa play really bad on grass when he played that big shot makers, Kyrgios maybe win to Raonic, but Roger destroy him

bet and win.. on that match against that dustin brown guy, he lost also and I saw some arab guys with their thawb. walking around public.. very suspicious... On the other hand, I think that this competion its not atractive for him like the french open

im from australia and i must admit I'm loving the dominance of young kyrgios.. But as a MAJOR Nadal fan, and tennis fan.. people need to know that nadal isnt shit! everyone loses.. and the fact that nadal played relatively well but still lost.. just shows there is going to be some good tennis in the future from these young guns. But I must say.. Nick.. stop being so bloody cocky.. yes you played some TERRIFIC shots, but the way you handled your celebrations and body language was poor. Also that through the leg shot was great! but if nadal was cocky like you he would of done it twice as better!

He played like sh*t. anyone else (name any tennis player) could return majority of those Kyrgios's serves. I am Rafa's fan but very disappointed with the way he played. he needs to work on his mental weakness and fear of serves. I am done with Wimbledon this year.

I agree that Nadal played like a scared puppy today. It's highly embarrassing for him to keep losing at Wimby every year to some one and done, low ranked mug who will never accomplish shit on the tour. I'm not sure what's going on with him, but he needs to get it straightened out before the summer hardcourt season. Nadal has not looked good since the USO last year, imo. Maybe less offcourt bullshit, less exos, and more practicing your damn tennis. This was a horrible loss no matter how he tries to spin it.

Anderson's serves are far more devastating than Kyrgios but Murray was able to handle those serves very well. Nadal should learn from Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. You don't expect serves and servers to be mediocre as tennis progresses through and gets more and more scientific in the years to come.

Schelle7000 I agree. I don't think he will be able to defend his hard court titles this year.

oceansurfer100 I don't either. No way in hell is he winning the USO again this year. I wouldn't doubt it if he lost in the first week again, and probably to some low ranked player we have all never even heard of.

Schelle7000 I am saying it for quite some time that his coach uncle Toni should be sacked. He admitted using reverse psychology to motivate Rafa to win. He doesn't realize that it ruins his nephew's confidence. hard to understand why Rafa is so scared of big serves and for god's sake the Kyrgios's serve speeds were not that high.

Very Bitter. He doesnt hide it very well. He won his last Wimby on name and he knows it. Murray had him on toast for a set and a half before he bottled it in the semi. He struggles big time defensively on this surface. Movement doesn't work and you could tell by the way he looked at his coach from the first round this year. No confidence at all. Not a big shock this defeat.

Nadal dosent defend aswell on grass as he does on clay or even hard the ball skids and he can't hook his shots yh same he can still attack well enough on it by but kyrios didn't allow him to due to big serving and agressive play on first ball he should beat raonic playing like this final maybe but I doubt he'll win it he won't get the freedom of big serves against the like of djokovic and Murray although I'm backing baby fed to send Murray out

he shld beat raonic :D....kyrgios' major weapon is his serve whch helped him to save all dose break points in 2nd nd 3rd set...nadal's major prblm was his ability to serve big at crucial moments lyk in tie breakers break points etc...his return f serve also din wrk very well credit to kyrgios's serve
