Sthayi: chithavan roke, roke hu naa rahee chithavan roke, roke huna naa rahee (if you listen to the clip, punditji does many variations on this line alone) shyam sundar sindhu sara mukha (some variations at shyam sundar) (some variations at the word shyam) shyam sundar sindhu sara mukha saritha umangee bahee (chithavan) Anthara 1: prema salila pravaaha moha kaun thaaha layee lola laharee kataaksha goonghata (some variations at lola lahari kataaksha goonghata) lola laharee kataaksha googhata patha kadhaaradayee(chithavan) Anthara 2: Naava palakahay dheer navaka paratha naahee gahee mili soor samudhra shyamahee phirina ulata bahee ( bayee)

@ mr. sourav sengupta are you sure that this bandish is in rupak and not vilambit teenthal because someone else here has written that this bandish is in vilambit theenthal. and please keep in mind that rupaktal is a 7 beat cyclye. it is a very short cycle. sam and khali fall on the same beat. it is a taal that is used in semi classical pieces and lighter pieces like bhajans, and maybe some madhyalay/drut compositions. So i am not about this. I will have to check with my guru on this.

And from the way punditji is singing, the lay of this composition is in vilambit so i am not sure how the composition would fit into rupakthal

@@pallavisreetambraparni6995 Yes I'm positive it is roopak. I've actually heard bandishs in vilambit roopak too, its is rare but people do sing in roopak vilambit also FYI this is not vilambit roopak either.

To do correct improvisation, alap, bolalap, sargam, thaan, swar badath, and ornamentations like meend, murki, gamak, katka and others it takes alot of dedication, practice and a proper guru to guide and teach the proper techniques to show these things properly

In anthara 2 , punditji expresses the first word of the first line "naava". He does some variations here. He then expresses the first word of the second line " paratha" and does some variations there. Finally punditji does some variations at the line "mili soor samudra shyamahee"

In anthara one, in line one, punditji expresses the word "prem" the first word. He does many variations on this word. And he also expresses the second line in the first anthara " lola lahari kataksha" He does many variations on this phrase in the first anthara.

okay. i tried to contact my guru and she texted me back with somewhat most of the lyrics from what she heard on the youtube clip. this bhajan is in rag desh, and the thaal is vilambit theenthal, a 16 beat cycle in slower tempo. lyrics: sthayi: chithavan rokhe rokhe hunaarahee (rokhe huna narahee). punditji does lot of alaaps and variations on this line alone if you listen to the clip shyam sundhar sindhu sara mukha sarita umangee bahee(bayee) (chithavan) first anthara: prema salila pravaaha moha (again many alaps and variations in this line) kauna thaaha layee lola laharee kataksha goonghata (some alaps and variations in this line) patha kadhaaradayee (chithavan) Anthara 2: naav palakahhay dheera naavak paratha naahee gahee mili soor samudhra shyamahee (some alaps and variations in this line) phirina ulata bhayee (bahee) (chithavan)
