Honestly, at this point I'd recommend running Prunelia over Lyleen as far as your Planting needs goes. While they only get to rank 4 Planting via condensing alone, they make up for it with their Partner skill that increases the yield of your harvest just by existing in the base. Plus their Dark typing means they can work through the night naturally. You can also combine this with a Lullu who increases the speed at which the harvest grows just by existing in the base. Another sleeper hit as far as base pals goes is Shroomer Noct. You can set it up to be your Lumbering Pal, and its Partner skill reduces the rate at which all the Pals in the base lose Sanity, letting them keep going for longer. Dunno the exact percentage, though I've heard that at 4* it sits at 15%, same as Workaholic

it wouldnt work because to get the maximum output you need 2-3 work speed increasing passives and one that either reduces their hunger depletion rate or one that decreases the SAN depletion rate (or both if using 2 work speed passives unless they give pals 5 passive slots instead of the 4

I my opinion, prunelia has replaced lyleen for planting and gathering since it's passive gives you more items compared to lyleen being slightly faster at planting. And prunelia is nocturnal by base as well

What I'm currently doing is using 3 Prunelias and 3 Lullus, got a base only for farming cakes/food, they are only level 1 and not even with best skills, but they make so much that I can keep all the pals in my bases well fed

while I agree with you, only after getting the planting book. Planting 4 is only a 5x mod while planting 5 is a 10x mod to work speed so each Prunellia is only worth half of a Lyleen in planting speed. at 4 star it gives +35% more yield but costing planting speed means that you can only run half as many plantations total. if you can afford to run 3 prunellia at 4 star you start to come out ahead, but run less than that its a net loss. Post book however its a stupid good increase to margin. Though we are talking about something like 11,000 chests to get the book you want (1:1000 odds, 11 options), so unless you are lucky its not happening any time soon.

The ability also stacks, giving absurd gatherings of X63 if you really want to (My Frosties are not condensed) Also to note that high level gathering doesn't only make it faster. It also raises the harvest by +5 per level. No clue why the video ignores that

@@neitsuke I disagree. Going from Planting 5 (10x) to Planting 4 (5x) is a substantial decrease in planting speed. In game a 4* Lyleen can plant lettuce in 8 seconds, while a Prunelia will take 16 for that same plot. Farm capacity then becomes Total Grow Time of the plot divided by Planting + Transit Time. or in less theoretical numbers: at 2 minutes grow time a single lyleen with 8 second planting will be able to tend 15 plots, while in the same time a Prunelia will only be able to tend 7.5. so your total farm yield is decreased proportionate to the planting speed, as all other factors (gathering, watering, etc) stay the same. Even if your considering the bonus from not having to run nocturnal then Prunelia will only be able to tend 9 plots (66% of a Lyleen in our example) longer planting times increase that margin. The Prunelia partner skill increases yield by 35% at 4* so until you pass 2 4* Prunelia (+70% yield) you don't even break even. if you are running 3 or more, sure then its faster, but unless you are running a dedicated farm base and more than 15 base pals your not going to get into that context; 3x planting, 3x watering, 3x gathering, 3x transporting is 12 already. Once you uncap base pal number everything becomes irrelevant as you can just run 10 bases of 50 pals and have the option of running Suitability 1 pals as you have the slots for it.

@ It doesn't need to be that complicated. My Lyleen takes two! seconds to plant wheat. That means a Prunelia will take 4. It takes around two minutes from beginning to end for a wheat plot. That included idle time since I have one garden for each crop. 2 secs less of two minutes is basically one percent slower. That's 1% slower for 35% more harvest. It's categorically better to replace Lyleen for planting for an equal amount of Prunelia

Each harvesting level not only increases the speed of harvesting, but also increases the harvest yield for each level, level 5 giving x3 I believe. Fun fact: a transporter that also has harvesting, can auto-harvest skill trees and even increase their yield. So far we've been only able to increase the yield for skill trees to x2, but with the applied techniques you can boost it up to x3. Knocklem is the only pal that can double the skill fruit yield without condensing so far.

While you got a tremendous amount of things correct, which is commendable given the information available, you missed three things: 1) Gathering level dictates the amount of yield per plot scaling by suitability level as 1/1.5/2/2.5/3x in addition to increasing harvest speed. So a Lyleen at planting 2 only gets a 1.5x mod to plantation yield, while a Fnoct at P5 gets a 3x yield. Given the base yield of most of the plantations is 10 items, by using a Lyleen you are cutting your efficiency (Edit: in) half. 2) Given the new, absurdly rare, books (1:1000 per chest) you can bump the highest Dark pal to the top spot of every work suitability. Dark giving a passive "nocturnal" means you can run "serious" as your 4th passive and pick up an additional 20% to your total work speed (as you stated). The pals of relevance for this are first Prunellia because her partner skill increases yield by a substantial margin, then after Sootseer for Kindling, Helz Lux for Power, and Bushi noct for lumbering. Last by a pretty large margin is Vanwyrm for transporting and Van Cryst for Cooling as the number of books required in both cases is prohibitive. 3) Transportation speed is most important for raw nodes as the transporters wont collect multiple stacks per trip, but once you move to the "Sites" where goods accumulate and then are transported en-mass transporting speed becomes almost irrelevant as placing a chest adjacent to the site will allow the transporting pal to just spin on the spot and empty the entire site into the chest. In this instance the pal only needs level 5 transporting for maximum efficiency so a nocturnal Knocklem is just the easiest way to go. Personally I disagree with your choice of Ryu as it is a self-breed only pal and therefor will need way more work to get the new, absurdly rare, passives required to max out its efficiency. despite being physically larger and a pain to work with, Jignis is going to be far easier to get the passive you need on it as you can chain up from whatever pal you do get them on. If your heart is set on Ryu, I recommend capturing a Dr. Brawn and having him do surgery on a Ryu with

gathering suitability also has a multiplier for crop yield. the base harvest amount is 10. the gathering multiplier is 1+0.5*(gatherlevel - 1). so 1x to 3x depending on level. gathering bonus stacks multiplicatively with the research bonus ( +50% at max) realistically its not super meaningful since most fields overproduce as is, but for mass producing cakes it means you only need like 2 or 3 farms since you're getting 45 wheat per harvest. personally i wish verdash was a base level 4 gatherer, i think he looks more appropriate for the job than the funny purple horse that litteraly eats the crops to harvest them.

I bred 7 fully condensed Helzephers with Legend, swift, lucky, and heart of the immovable king. Those are the only transportation pals i use at my bases! Naturally dark type and gets to lvl 4 condensed. Id prefer to "choose" my passives over adding that dark type

The hexalite base he suggest also has a little node of chromite that spawns to the right/along the same edge as the hexalite crystals. Whip out your metal detector and you’ll find it. And it responds daily.

If transport work books aren't an issue for you, I'd like to make a case for Mimog as a good transport pal. Little guy is speedy, plus they're small so they're less likely to get stuck when running around your base. Plus, cute factor! (The breeding for speed passives is a headache since they can only breed into themselves; but even without the passives they should still do their job just fine)

My friend, ima say one thing about my base. They are near to constantly farming, from one crop being planted to another being watered and 2 others being harvested while others are growing. I have a bunch of different crops because it's near annoying obsessive to try and keep these bases stocked with meat from other locations

Just because you have higher mining level on astegon and ryu, they are still slower miners than the turtle which spins. It might have lower level in mining, but it is faster in mining overall. Might not work in the newest ore, have not looked into that if it requires something like 4 or 5 mining as the turtle had 3 I believe.

I'd like to address some things in the video. First, if you're cooling anything besides a crusher and a refrigerator in its downtime at most (Bastigor is still better used to mine in the downtime) you're more or less waiting a pal slot. One slot of food or ore production can make a lot more improvement to food than what a cooling pal can preserve. And harvesting. Harvesting ALWAYD has to be lvl 5. Harvesting works like this: every harvest has a base value of 5 resources. Each work suitability level increases this yield by 5. And prunellia adds percentages on top of the final result of 30 per harvest. Medicine isn't important to be done quickly and the quality doesn't increase with pal suitability, so let prunelia take care of that.

Oh. And for lumbering, I've got a shroomer in every base and bastigor in another while he's not using the crusher. Yeah. Planting shroomer is too slow. Gathering he ruins the harvest. Just beeing in base reduces the sanity drop so, hit that head on the trees please. Don't need much wood anyway

New update yesterday just fixed the pathing issues with large pals. They now path around the base with the same hitbox as regular size pals. They clip into every wall/surface but can fit through just fine.

I disagree on the cooling front. If you're using cooling, your either using your refrigerators or using the upgraded crusher, and while I can see bastigor being better at the crusher, your refrigerator should always be cooling, so I think having frostallion is the better call. Also, by that point, your one step away from Frostallion noct, so you might as well maximize the rate at which you produce crops by making Harvesting as fast as you can.

For food cooling, the cold food box is best (I believe it preserves food even longer than the refrigerator). That being said, Frostallion is a bit big and bulky - plus you need to breed nocturnal on one to have it cool food through the nights. Instead of Frostallion, Vanwyrm Cryst is better imo. It's the only pal that has cooling work suitability and is dark type, allowing it to work through nights. It's relatively small and no extra breeding for skills are needed.

@@ThyCorruptor To my knowledge, pals at a base don't eat from the guild chest (even if food exist in the guild chest and a food box isn't present at a base). Tbh, I haven't tested it though. So you may def have a valid point with that. Either way, for my server - it isn't practical to hold all the various food items/ingredients within the guild chest. I'm running my own dedicated server with 4 people at the moment. So, we use the guild chest to mainly hold crafting/building supplies so that everyone doesn't have to travel to multiple bases to get what they need. We have some food items in the guild chest but they are mostly foods for buffs/cavern mushrooms for recovery items.

I mean, dark and nocturnal really aren't in the equation for me. The game becomes dark and harder to see at night, even with the lantern. Unless I'm dungeon diving and don't notice, I simply don't let it get to be nighttime. Plus, night lasts for around 5 and a half minutes on base settings as aposed to day being around 25 minutes. It simply isn’t worth taking a loss in work speed or switching to a new dark pal to improve the occasional 5 minutes the rare time I don't sleep. Especially the case of kindling and handiwork pals as they aren’t truly automated. You have to instruct them as to what needs to be made. So, to make the most out of them, you need to come back every so often and instruct them what to do. Might as well come back at night and sleep.

Be aware of the space when using an Astegon as i dont know whats up with him at my base but he dosent seems to be able to get under my base roof even though its 3 lvls high. I have other pals that can do the job so its not a big deal but everytime i start up 1 of the jobs under the roof he tries to get over there and everytime a message pops up that its unreachable for him so he just ignores it. Hes Handiwork is low so its not a big deal but i´m assuming becouse hes big and flying it causes some hitbox issues even with the roof 3 lvls up.

@@darklightneonnightlord8540 There is something more then that that is causing the issue becouse the really big once like Jormuntide and the ignis version has no problem getting under there, even there Alpha versions that is bigger then Astegon can work under there but Astegon for some strange reson cant. Its not an issue anymore as i have completely redesigned that base and atm there is no roof atall. Maye they did something to Jormuntide hitbox as he was the one that hade the really bad hitbox issues in the beginning and Astegon kinda snuck under the radar being just big enough to cause issues.

Are you sure that you breed with Mossandra? Because breeding Petallia with Wumpo Botan gives Omascul. Wumpo Botan looks similar to Mossandra, so maybe you confused them?

The only information that I would say that you have incorrect, is the traits you want on certain pals, like 1. For a heater or cooler to keep eggs in the perfect temperature you want a pals with just level 1 kindle or cooling since the level doesn't change much, and you want a pal with a low food requirement. The skills you want on those pals are to reduce sanity loss. 2. For pals on the refrigerators or cooled food boxes, sanity doesn't drop, and work speed doesn't matter, only cooling level. So for these, you want a high cooling level and have them have food reduction traits. 3. One point you didn't cover was barn pals which the only traits good for them is food reduction.

1. No one uses those things for breeding. You can just set up the breeding base some where warm or cold if you really want to waste pal slots on that. Or just hit 60 and it doesn't matter with the new tech we got from feybreak. 2. No you want to have a cooling pal with nocturnal at the minimum for your food. It's fine if they get up for a few seconds and walk around. It's not fine if you are stuck out all night and they go to sleep. You want work speed though if they are using the crusher....... 3. Ranch pals don't matter...... period you just need to condense them..... have a way for their materials to get picked up and put in the guild box or a spot where you can bring them back to main base.

@rainmanthegoat 1. Some people do use them because moving bases just to do a run of breeding can be quite tedious. I know all my friends use coolers and heaters. Not to mention you talk about wasting pal slots when it only takes 14 pals to run a max base so add 2 from breeding and 2 for egg temps thats only 18 still plenty of room for more, compared to wasting 2 out of the 3 bases you can build. Also you talk about feybreak like everyone is already maxed level to have great items like that. 2. I didn't mention the nocturnal because it was already mentioned in the video that it is wanted on such pals. You still have 3 other trait slots, and since high work skill pals usually have a larger hunger, reducing it is what's wanted for the other 3 slots. 3. You are only looking at this from the lenses of having a maxed out game file. While my statement is made for even lower level players. New players/ lower level players aren't going to build a separate base just to ranch. They also might not have the 120 pals to condense into one pal. So this is traits to get the most bang for buck even to low levels.

@@TheMrgbms The video comes from 55+...... and us restarting recently as a community for feybreak. Had breeding bases set up w/o those things and did just fine. You don't need to have Kindling and Cooling pals doing those task. It's a waste of potential efficiency for your base. (Even from starting for new players). IMO you just change the world file to not have instant egg hatching but something more reasonable than waiting 30+ mins. (You can go into the world config file to go lower than the swatch in the world settings in game)

If you are going to cry about that, then why don't you just up the pals per base to 50. Like I said, it only takes like 14 pals to run a max base. If you have 50 pal slots, you're losing miniscule efficiency...

It doesn't? Lyleen is way better still. If anything you run one Prunelia if you have a slot for it. Why would you forsake a R5 planter for a R4 planter that comes w/ a buff when most of the player base sleeps during night anyways so the dark part doesn't even matter. With all the research you can do Prunelia and Lullu don't matter that much. The same thing goes for Shroomer Noct. Like sure if you have the space add them. But, for most people running 15-20 pals at their base. You will be much better running 2 Lyleen's that are max condensed w/ pal souls in their work speed along with the correct passives.
