Your brothers lounge reminds me of my family one circa 1965 when growing up. He should get himself a tv with no remote control and only BBC and ITV for the full experience. Loved the restoration.

Wonderful job on that piece! It’s fun to see furniture from my childhood being rediscovered and saved! Man that stuff was in every household growing up, now it’s all in antique stores! I guess the moral of the story is don’t ever throw anything out, wait sixty years or so and it will be back in fashion! So, I have to find the box with my old bell bottoms and peace symbols cuz sooner or later....😉

That turned out way better than I thought it would. You really should consider buying some disposable latex gloves for applying linseed oil and the rest. That stuff will soak into your skin.

I needed this video! I’m refinishing a mid century dresser with louvered drawers. The case just sits on the ground similarly to this piece and I’ve been brainstorming how I’ll add legs. I don’t think this exact method will be strong enough to support my dresser but it has given me some ideas/hope that I can achieve the look I want! Lol

That looks like it came out really well. You can rarely go wrong with an oil finish, in my opinion. I also think the cabinet looks better being elevated by the legs. I like how you were distracted by the ducks. ;-)
