At the end of the day Keith, you’ve deemed the unit as reusable no matter how. I think a majority of criticism boils down to the fact that it may not be how they would’ve done the job. As far as I’m concerned, you did a great job on it and for something that could’ve ended up thrown away, you gave it another chance. Great video mate 👍🏼👍🏼

Beautiful job Mr. I found a similar one on a tip.. Fortunately it was in really nice order but needed new shelves.. I used glass...and it has been in use in my house for some years. This stuff is only fashionable with those of us who do not want shoddy disposable furniture. That cabinet will now outlive you instead of going to landfill. Good work..greetings from Lowestoft

If you get enjoyment out of doing it, it's not a waste of time, and you're not restoring it for a customer who wants something done in a very specific way, but how you want to do it and achieve your own end result.... I imagine a good proportion of those comments come from people who've never restored anything, so don't worry about them. That's the internet... critics everywhere. Really nice job. 👍

Piece of advice to get rid of veneer quickly. Use an iron on it. After heating up, you can just peel it off :) Btw, I don't get the criticism, just let people do whatever they wanna do. There is no right or wrong.

Nice restoration Keith. As others have said ignore the KZbin restoration police those who offer "advise" never have their own videos. I've never made a veneer and was interested to see you do it with the table saw as I don't think my bandsaw is up to it in terms of accuracy as I need a thicker blade; will give this a try.

I just discovered your channel and am really impressed with your work. I love to restore furniture in this fashion - which is to say I DO worry about how it looks, but I don't worry about every piece is original. I believe you called it "sympathetic" restoration. Function/strength is critical to me. If you can stand in front of it and it looks good as well, then it is a job well done in my opinion. Your shaping of new pieces to the old on the "wings" of the leg... I have done that by hand and it is a real challenge. It was enjoyable to me, to see how you did it with tools/saws, etc. Really top notch work. Thanks so much for sharing. I wasn't going to comment - but after hearing you at the end of the part 2 video, talking about critical types of comments you receive on a job like this - it was almost like criticizing the work I do as well. So, in that light, it seemed proper to respond :-) I believe a UK expression is "crack on"? That seems appropriate here. Job well done Sir. Crack on.
