Enjoyed this train route because it somewhat highlights that the French countryside is so varied in different type of landscape terrain from flat to mountainy and urban to rural in relatively short distances that you can't ever get bored while taking a train or road journey within France even if it's a brief trip like this one.

The department of Ariège! A beautiful line that takes you to the heart of the Pyrenees, between the castles of Foix and Tarascon-sur-Ariège! Let's hope we also get to La-Tour-de-Carol, from where the Little Yellow Train leaves, which you have already viewed in another video. It would be nice if we could see the line from Barcelona via Vich to Puigcerdà in the Cerdanya and connect to the French side. A line from both the French and Spanish sides shows the engineering progress of bridges and tunnels piercing the Pyrenees. I noticed that (thanks also to the GDP of Occitania and the Toulouse area) the stations have been renovated on the platforms at least up to Foix. Beautiful rapid line that leads from the Garonne to the Pyrenees! as always well done David.... I would make a statue of him!

Merci pour cette video. A partir de Foix et jusqu'a Ax les Thermes et au dela les paysages sont plus agréables a regarder. Dommage pour le manque de.soleil. A1.00.57 a dtroite et au.fond le chateau des Contes de Foix. A l'époque de la monarchie, ils était co-princes de la Principauté d'Andiorre. Avec la République c'est le président qui excerce cette fonction avec l'evèque espagnol de la Seo de Urgell.

Comme d'habitude , très belle vidéo. Juste à l’entrée de la gare de Vernet-d'Ariège ( à droite ), à 0 :42 :17 , on pourra remarquer un wagon identique à ceux qui ont servi aux transports des déportés vers les camps d’extermination. Le camp du Vernet a été un camp d’internement français situé sur le territoire de la commune du Vernet en Ariège. Il a été créé en 1939 et fermé en 1944. Il a servi à interner entre-autres les combattants espagnols, (membres des Brigades Internationales) puis les étrangers dits « indésirables ». Il a servi aussi de camp de transit pour les juifs arrêtés dans la région. Au total environ 40 000 personnes de 54 nationalités ont été internées dans ce camp, principalement des hommes, mais aussi des femmes et des enfants.
