Those GP49's are such a rare treat. Alaska Railroad specs from the headlight package to snow covers and the custom snowplow and front step modifications required for the steep plow curvature.

@@Carolb66 Thank you Carol. We did ok here, we only had one inch of rain and some wind. But about 150 miles west of us, the Mountains, got it really bad with epic Floods, worst since 1791. The drone pictures I have seen is unbelievable of how bad it is. Cars, trucks, and houses floating down the river. Flood up to rooftops, in some places. So far there has only been 5 killed in North Carolina due to the storm and flash floods and general flooding. It will take years for these mountain cities to recover from the damage Hurricane Helene, did.

Not too far down the pike when the leaves will be off the.trees. So today was Flashback Friday when the kids were pint-sized and a different furry friend rode up front It was fun to see the 2 units with their unique headlights on track that certainly has gotten a lot of tree growth. As the units crossed under the trainmans watchful eyes by some buildings that are now gone it almost felt like a remake for the video John Cougar Mellencamp's Ain't That America. It's that folksy Slice of Life and railroading that has made these videos unique

2015 and that dog was Prince. I raised him from a tiny puppy. He was a rescue dog but he died a couple years ago

@@kpete9219 I was devastated to lose Prince. I took him with me all the time. He loved going with me to watch trains. I took him to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. I rescued him when he was small enough to fit in a shoe box. First thing I did was took him to the vet because he just barely lived. The people I got him from were going to let him die. He turned out to be the best dog I ever had. I know he had a good life. He was never on a chain.
