Impressed with the amount of rolling stock they have. Very nice and elaborate set-up!

I support this train I hope they will restore the line through Washington Park it’s been out of service for quite some time and it’s future is uncertain may this the zoo work with the state to get the line back up and running again

@@conraillock666 Nice mixture of the British style crossings, electronic bells, and wigwags(cool with the drop down fences on the crossing arms). Believe it or not, the Dole Pineapple Railway in Oahu Hawaii has modern electronic bell crossing gates(though manually activated).

I preferred riding the steam train. I was very disappointed when they stopped going to Washington park. It gave you the feeling you were on a real train to a destination. I think they put the new elephant enclosure over the tracks.

@@sbcrossings5907 Crazy to see another one... The local park I work at has a train that's a replica of the GM Aerotrain, too. I never realized there might be more than one, but thinking about it now I don't see why not. Our is a much smaller scale, though.

The train looks exactly like the one they had in Disneyland in the 50's. Is it the same one?

I was thinking the same thing Do not recall seeing videos of the DL unit enough to compare.
@phloughtgnarpsehs7263Ай бұрын
Not the same train. But the Zooliner & Disneys Viewliner were built based on GM’s full sized Aerotrain design. If you look at pictures of Disneys loco, it’s definitely different than the zoo train. Disneys trains were in storage until being scrapped in the late 70’s.
@plateshutoverlockАй бұрын
Imagine if one time the gates go down instead of the Zooliner, a full sized freight train with full length double stacked containers, 2 sets of mid train DPUs plus another DPU set at the end, and at least 180 gondolas (for the containers) went through those crossings at 50mph.

@iflyfish1003 yep. Supposedly they rode very rough so didn't work out well as intercity trains but bought up the other Aerotrains from the other roads running them because they were cheap and the Rock Island needed to fill holes in their aging commuter fleet
