Awesome! Glad to see you are going to be making a large amount of progress on the track. I’ve finalized a track design so I can get going with track this spring once a shop is built.

Ahhhh......a little autumn MOW work with the leaf rake to start thungs off !!! And now the start of the extension of the main line. Man, your arm must be tired using that ratchet to drive all those "spikes". 😊 I, too, have one of those big ol' "man killer" drills made before WWII and they can sure make holes in a hurry. Your summation at the end of the vid was much appreciated and I could see how surprised and affected you are at your sudden increase in subs. You deserve it buddy because the world always appreciates a guy building his "dream". Keep up the good work and hopefully you can get the extension finished before the snow flies.

Yes, finally another KZbinr building his own railway! Love it! Who else do you know off? I know the Way Out West Guy and subscribed to him, and also the millbrook railway channel. Who did I miss?

Jon, really excited about this progress. I like how you did the recap at the end of the video, really ties it all together.

Great to see you back at it. Keep up the progress. Have you considered making a template out of maybe some flat steel to pilot drill the four bolt holes on the ties. That would speed the process of bolting them to the rails. A small battery powered impact driver would speed up the job too. Just a thought. Nice work as usual.

I do plan on making some jigs for ties and splice bars, it does take a while to mark things out.

Enjoying the content. :) Inspiring me to maybe make my own in my own little piece of paradise if the wife and budget allow. I like the technical ideas you can glean from watching yourself and the Irish gentleman from "way out west" as well as you put together your railways.

Hey David, it certainly feels like progress, and that's just the first 20 feet.

I do like your rail design. Glad to see that you are using belved washers on the outside. Maybe instead using short sections of angle iron on the inside. In this way, there will be more holding power than just using the same washers as on the outside of your rail. Anyway, I think that you have a dandy of a train set and hope to see more in the future.

Always refining the design, I have some future ideas for better tie plates, I have yet to show my beam clamp gauge bar method.

I appreciate the videos that you put out. I like your track style better than the "Way out West" KZbin style. I am going to copy your designs when I finally get my train set up. I was lucky and bought a ride on train from a closed down mall auction years ago. So I have the bare bones to start with. The train/cars and track that came with it have been sitting in a shed since. I plan on using it for the kids and also for functional use to the gardens and gathering firewood ect.
