Reclaiming those rails fron the old layout is sooooo labor intensive. My back and knees are aching in sympathy with you,

In one of those odd "Time Zone" things, I am watching this February update on the 1st of March, even though it was just posted. :)

I just read your description . I was thinking when I was watching that this all should end up at a nice shop building.

Indeed it will, I should get the track up to the overhead door by next month. Thinking I'll tie in my plans for the shop itself in the next video as well.

Now, heres an idea, adapt one of those snowblowers for railroad use by putting flanged wheels on it!

fantastic video, i like your trackwork its rather similar to my track except i use 1 Inch box section because it is cheaper than T section, I've been watching your videos for a while now, Keep up the good work from a friend and fellow narrow gauger over the pond

What can you say about the tracks you were lifting at the start? I know you mentioned some things in earlier videos, like the grade being too steep, but you didn't go into very much detail otherwise, that I saw. When were they laid? Was there a purpose beyond mere hobby? What kind of operation did they see?
@Redundant_Communication Жыл бұрын
That line was built starting circa 2014 for moving brush and debris as much of our property was overgrown. It wasn't as functional as I would like but I continued it for fun, though when first attempting a locomotive it was clear the grade was too steep and the track too weak. As the old line has rotted I've taken it up to reuse the T-posts, so I haven't fully addressed it as it's sort of a bygone, but I'm glad you have interest in the history of this project.

I enjoy your videos. Great backyard railroad. I was wondering if you were going to secure the tracks to the pavement

Very informative about track laying ,I'm using this method on my mine track . Have you been using 3/4 or still 1/2 inch channel ?
@Redundant_Communication Жыл бұрын
The channel is 1/2" wide by 1-1/2" tall, works perfectly for light duty. The panels I'm making here for the driveway are the old T-posts, but are of similar dimension.
