GREAT train video and thanks for sharing! What LOVELY country and big city scenery. I wish I spoke German to understand the woman's voice announcing all the stops. I wonder how non-German tourists on these trains understand where their next stop is. Maybe there are maps on the trains? Anyhow, I marvel at the one track in most parts of this ride and wonder if there are head-on train crashes at times. Danke from New Mexico USA!!!
@Leenapanther3 жыл бұрын
There are maps yes. More important: There are screens which show all the stops and how long it takes to get there (standard). They also inlcude the next connections at the train station and delays. Here's a picture (in case it works) www.wasnlos.ch/wasnlos/wp-content/gallery/offentlich/20150626_0615.jpg

IT's a pity these nice videos do not show more info like time of departure: day of the week : strange situations or structures on the train route like those long fences between the train tracks and a highway, etc. Good work.

Did anyone else see the ghost car that drove over the level crossing before disappearing around 14.10 ?? When the train approached the level crossing moments later the barriers were firmly down.
@Rimrock3006 жыл бұрын
Yes, pretty cool. The train did stopped about a little less than 3 minutes at the station, but the waiting time have been edited away from the video as it is not so interesting sit and wait several minutes looking at the same picture;) (Train entering this station at 10 minutes to 2 o'clock. Train entering next station 5 minutes to 2, but in the video the time between the stations is 2 minutes 15 sec, so about 2 min 45 sec is 'lost')

So... The system at large must know where any and all trains are at any time. Does the train signal to the system and are there sensors actually on or next to the track also?
@RailwayEmotions6 жыл бұрын
The infrastructure itself detects trains and their position with different methods. There is no communication from the train to the tracks, just the other way around.

Greetings from California! Thanks so much for the very scenic video. There are some truly beautiful places in this world! I do have a question: How are the station announcements loaded into the train's audio system? I assume that the train doesn't have exactly the same run every time. Thanks again!
@RailwayEmotions6 жыл бұрын
All lines and times where and when this trainset could run (>1000!) are saved in the system. We enter the line number and the rest is usually done by the announcement and information system itself. Updates are transmitted via air interface (cell network), wherever the train is. It is much more than just an audio system, there are multiple monitors in each carriage, displaying time, arrival and departure times, other connections and local bus services, disturbances... it is extremely complicated and well made.
@swarfrat3116 жыл бұрын
@@RailwayEmotions Thanks for the prompt reply. Sounds like a complicated system. Swiss technology can't be beat! I'm a analog audio nut and would love to get my hands on a tape machine designed and built by Willi Studer.

One thing puzzles me, as a retired driver myself why do the trains not slow down at onside track construction.? In N.America it is required as a safety procedure.
@RailwayEmotions4 жыл бұрын
Of course we slow dowm, when and how much depends on the type of track works.

Beautiful video, but next time, when you editing video, could you please skip those tunnels? We want to see a beautiful nature. We don't want to see those dark walls of the tunnels. Thank you
@RailwayEmotions6 жыл бұрын
Feel free to skip the tunnel sequences, but I won't cut them out. The only exception so far is the 5th longest tunnel in the world that I have on my channel, I have cut it by 18 minutes. We are a country full of alps, tunnels and bridges and I will continue to show all of it, to give my viewers a feeling about the real travel time on the routes.
