Everything looks great! I just saw where parts of France experienced massive flooding. I'm glad to see your beautiful property was not affected given all the rain you got. I think the ladybugs you're seeing are the Asian beetles that are sensitive to cold, so they seek out warm places to hibernate, like your house. They travel in groups, hence the large number around your windows. I always enjoy your videos; so fun!

I would almost bet those bugs are actually Asian beetles not ladybugs! They love sunny spots! We have them on the eastern US! A real nuisance and hard to kill ✌🏻💞😊

I am not judging, I just LOVE Ladybugs ❤❤ I have never found one in my house, but if I did I would catch it like I catch other bugs I like... with a jar. Then you slip a folded paper under the opening and release outside.

Abby speaking of tree trimming…I noticed when the gentleman was mowing that one large tree could use some branches pruned back a bit. I’m in charge of the tree trimming at my farm and it makes a huge difference to the look of the place not to mention much less debris falling into the grassy areas. Love your channel … from PA, USA.

You can trim the tress in case you wants to have a better view. Also if you want smaller trees instead of cutting them down totally. The wood of the trees can be trimmed and used later for the chimney. You can store and you will have you own provision for winter.

Asian beetles have them in southern Ontario had a few in my house this year look like ladybugs ! I am sure when go to the yacht club to clean Tuesday will find many of them ugh more work did not plan on extra work this week 72 days to go and done working the 31 Dec so excited ! We see not hired anyone yet to train we will see Now will have more time to clean my own home and sewing so happy time started working at age of 12 yrs young for dad at our restaurant ! So 58 years where did the time go !

Hopeful you had a successful retreat this past week, Abby! While I don’t think it’s what is typical of homes in Europe, would you consider having screens made for the windows, so you could open the windows when the weather is nice, and not have to worry about lady bugs, Stink bugs, etc? At least quite so much? It might be costly…😬

You need a garden shed for your lower garden. Glad you got rid of the walnut trees; they are really messy. Ladybugs are great for gardens-they eat lots of pests.

Hi Abbey thanks for sharing ❣ If you have actual lady bugs (as opposed to Asian lady beetles) they are garden insects and will prey on insects that feed on plants like aphids. I purchased a lady bug house once hoping they would come and nest in it over the winter and stay but I had no success...I guess I needed a lady bug chateau instead🙃.... The chanterelles from the cliff , how nice!

They are probably not ladybugs, they are probably Asian beetles. They bite and want to get inside and will get in through the smallest of cracks.

A roundy thing! I love that Abby! Curious, in France, how are tree and brush stumps dealt with so they do not resprout? If what you cut down was deemed "weedy trees" it will be 3x worse as the trees resprout from the trunk.

Abbey put some screen by the windows. You can do it yourself so easy. Take a measure of the windows (outside part from top to button and sides). Buy some wood and cut them according to the dimensions of the outside part of the window.. Make 2 wood frames according to the dimensions. Buy screen material (Amazon has good ones). Make a Cut a piece (lets called paper screen) with the dimensions so you can put between the 2 wood frames. On one of the frames nail the screen paper you made a little smaller than the wood frame. Then put together twits the other frame nailing them.. I put some kind of small cabinet handlers (round ones)by the sides of the inside frame, in order to handle better you wan to take them off for cleaning the screen JUST AN IDEA!!! The Wood could be wider or not depending how do you want to look. You napkin the frame or not. Try to buy the screen with the smaller spaces between and they also come in different colors.

Be careful on cutting down too many trees they stabilise the bank and soak up the moisture !!

Those are not actual ladybugs. They're a type of beetle that looks almost identical to a ladybug. They're harmless, except for crawling all over your house, they do no harm.

I think it is the "Year of Lady Bugs." We have LOTS of Lady Bugs here is Calgary, AB Canada in our Yard. I have never seen so many at one time. I noticed yesterday in the morning as it is 0C outside before the sun the bugs were hiding in the rocks etc... Cheers from Calgary, AB , Canada
