I love how close Rain was portrayed here to who he really is. The guy is a demi-god and that's one of the reasons why he wasn't allowed to compete in Mortal Kombat tournament. He's naturaly much more faster and stronger than any earthrealm warrior. If he would compete in the tournament it will be over pretty damn quickly lol.

Chris Suarez yeah Rain’s Super Kick is described as “around the world”. Basically when he kicks them offscreen, he can control the Earth’s water (75% of that covers the Earth) so that they are washed to the other side. The developers are saying that his range goes that far. That’s what amazes me.

I remember I used to watch this show, but I barely remember ANYTHING about it. But I DO remember this fight clearly, because Rain was my favorite character in the games when I was a kid, and I was always anticipating his arrival. The Mortal Combat Conquest series is set in the Middle Ages (kind of). This is the medieval Kung Lao, ancestor of the 20th century guy with the razor hat. As for Rain : he is more-or less immortal. He witnessed Shao Kahn taking over Edenia. It's certainly the same guy in the Middle Ages and in the 20th century.

I just don't understand why Raiden didn't help here except of the plot scenario. Raiden cannot interrupt fights between mortals, but Rain is a demi god and no mortal. So Raiden has all the rights to kick Rain's ass and ofcourse Raidan is 100% able to do it.

actually he did, he competed as Sub Zero. When Scorpion got assassinated by Sub Zero (the old one, Bi Han), he later came back resurrected by Quan Chi, and took part in Mortal Kombat to seek revenge. There he succeded in killing Sub Zero, who later got resurrected as Noob Saibot.

Pow ! The problem is the moral kombat conquest doesn't follow the game storyline. In conquest, scorpion was a soul trapped in an actual scorpion and released by shang tusng to kill kung lao, but fails. Shao kahn retireves him from netherealm to fight for him. Subzero was taken as a child from his family and made to fight and murder in the lin kuei. The two meet each other in a later episode and for unknown reasons have serious hate for each other which was never really explained. Noob Saibot was an oily fighter who can turn into oil to travel. Siro released him by accident into earth realm and tried to kill kung lao. He was beating kung lao until siro saved him. Noob Saibot had no relations with Subzero.

That pit with the fire in Annihilation doesn't kill Rain, all Shao Kahn did was sent him to the Colbalt Mines below his fortress (as seen in MK Conquest) which is why you see the fire burning. Rain wasn't killed. The Colbalt Mines is where Kahn imprison his failures for their crime of unsuccessful assignment to the emperor. Both Baraka and Rain got sent there.
