Yeah. I can really see this. My aunt passed away from cancer last week and it really hurt. Especially for my cousins. My aunt was one of the sweetest people you could meet. She often helped the others around her when she could. She was the epitome of selfless. And then we found out she developed cancer and there were complications that made it really hard to treat it. I watched this for the first time a couple years ago after grieving a few deaths that had happened at the time. I wanted to be a veterinarian, and unfortunately my family thought that an excuse to dump animals that needed care on me, including sick ones and to neglect the ones that were already in our home. Resulting in not very many happy endings if I couldn't rehome the animal or afford to care for them. After three dogs dying on me in less than 6 months I couldn't handle it and started to isolate. At the time all I watched was Jack's content. It is so soothing in a way I can't describe. I remember this one would always make me burst into tears, and yet I'd still watch it, because it was comforting knowing I wasn't alone or crazy. I've moved out now and managed to save one of the cats that wouldn't have survived at my family's house. She's doing so much better and I'm finally considering being a vet again.

There’s so many good analogies in the comments. Personally, I’ll say this represents isolation/loneliness. The rain being the solitude of being alone at first. It can be nice; It becomes comfortable, then after a while it’s not. So you try to reintegrate. The awning represents trying to surround yourself with people and be more social. And ultimately, no matter who you attempt to surround yourself with, the loneliness remains. It sticks with you. Sending love to anyone who has loneliness that lingers.

This is exactly how depression feels. It’s like when you go to a therapist, or when you ask friends or family or really anyone for help it supposedly “makes you feel better” or “feel better about yourself” when it doesn’t do anything at all so you just smile and nod your head. It’s an every day struggle to live with depression sometimes it’s hard for anyone to get out of bed it is a true struggle that people have to live with and I feel so bad for anyone who has to deal with such a horrible mental illness. No one deserves to feel the pain and guilt that they don’t deserve for the feeling of that they did something wrong when they never did.

Why he’s one of my fav artists, I haven’t listened to him lately but I come back to his videos every once in awhile because they are truly masterpieces. Jack is an incredible artist not just with music or story telling but with art itself and expression. Something a lot of popular artists deviate from. I don't think this is about the man being depressed, welcome to my ted talk as I explain He does not dislike the rain, he just doesn't like getting wet this means that while he doesn't dislike something he would rather not face the consequence of the external action, so therefore he would rather do the right thing for himself and take the necessary precautions in order to not face the consequences. He actively takes the right action and does the right thing, yet he still faces the consequences and this leads to him being sad. The video is not about him being depressed, the video is about how you can become depressed. Because, no matter how minor something may seem to an outsider it can be the tipping point for someone else
