I love making these “pancakes” with leftover vegetables at the end of the week and serving it as an afternoon snack with dipping sauce. I usually grate the vegetables which gives it a different texture, but is much easier to do

I love jeon so I tried the recipe. Now I don't have to run to Trader Joe's for a fix 😁. Healthier too since it's fresh and no preservatives. Just substituted the soy sauce with Yondu for a different umami source. Thanks KV 👍👍

Jeon is so similar to a filipino snack called Okoy. We use pumpkin like (hobakjeon) and papaya for it, we also add baby shrimps or anchovies sometimes and dip it in vinegar.

Carrot julienner = standard veg peeler. Love this recipe
@Fuzzy_Spork

A peeler would work if you pressed really hard to get it thick enough, but I think she's using a julienne tool that makes matchsticks without much effort. Love mine!
@cocorita4312
@cocorita4312 11 күн бұрын
not really, this ones also have small verticall blades every 3 mm or so, so that i cuts the vegetable in julianne. The normal veg peeler does just "thin layers" but cant do the vertical cuts

Another great use for a carrot juilienner is for Hobak Buchim (Zucchini pancakes). We use one all the time to cut up the zucchini.

Pajeon is....my favorite Korean food. I felt slightly ashamed of myself at first for enjoying something like that more than the wonderful bibimbap in front of me. Then, I remembered, this is something special for me. Instead of feeling as alienated as I was when I first moved to Miami, after months of feeling like I wouldn't make it here, that crispy scallion pancake made me feel at home. So, I would like to thank Pajeon for existing. It helped me continue to exist.

I love the shorts, they always bring me back to the channel. However, it would be beneficial if you would consider creating instructional videos for the dishes you make. Years ago I was fortunate to have a Korean neighbor who made her own Kimchi and she shared some with us. It was fabulous. I would love to know how.

If you soak your cut potato- there will some white potato starch in the bottom of the bowl- drain the water and add starch back in to the recipe. (Used in making potato pancake recipes) you’d still need to add some cornstarch to fill out the quantity needed for KV recipe.
