This recipe is good and reliable! I was afraid initially, because the flour to water ratio wasn't 1:1. I tried making it by adding more than the 4 tbsp of water that the recipe calls for, but I felt that the pancake was limpier. Then, I made it with the exact measurements in this recipe and it came out thin, light and crispy (even after it cooled down, it remained crispy)! It's probably a very good idea to have less dough for yachaejeon.

Most authentic that I’ve seen with the potato starch, much crispier! Some recipes out there make a thick batter like it was a western pancake with a few veggies inside! Subscribed!

I'm so happy I found your channel. I love watching Korean camping, cooking, and eating videos on KZbin. (Korean people appear to love their beer and enjoy a liquor that looks like milk.) Most of the time there are no English captions or recipes. I will go back and watch all your videos. In Cory May's video you mentioned you have a cook book for non-Koreans, is that cook book still available and where can I purchase one? I also replay your pronunciation and listen carefully so when I go to the Korean market they know what I'm looking for. Thank you for sharing your food and culture.

You are wonderful. God bless you! Only one question if I may, can the wheat flour be replaced with something else low carb? Thank you for the delish recipes!
@JiaChoiChef2 жыл бұрын
Hi! You may substitute flour to rice flour which is gluten-free, but you'll have to add less water because it's completely different from wheat flour.

Instead of potato starch could I substitute tapioca flour? I’d like to try this very soon as it looks so delicious!

The amount of water varies depending on the type of starch. Make a small amount of batter and test it. If it works, then apply this recipe : )

Forgot to ask…does one use a sauce to eat the pancake with?
@JiaChoiChef Жыл бұрын
I eat without a dipping sauce. If you want to make the sauce combine 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of rice vinegar(or any white vinegar), and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. : )

Is there a way to print out the recipe and instructions? I can’t copy the text in the description. Or a link to the recipe?

I haven't tried it. It would be great if you can copy and paste it but if it doesn't work maybe just watch it. : )

Whenever I try making this kind of pancake it always end up doughy. Maybe I made it too thick
@JiaChoiChef3 жыл бұрын
I think the consistancy of the batter might be too thick or thin. Let me check the recipe once more and will reply to you.

@@JiaChoiChef it's definitely my fault. I must be doing something wrong.
@iluminameluna Жыл бұрын
Try reducing your soft flour (all purpose flour) by removing 1 or 2 Tbs, and replacing them with a starch, like potato or tapioca. It may be that your flour may have too much gluten. The starch may crisp things up! Good luck! ❤
@Randomkloud Жыл бұрын
@@iluminameluna I will give this a try. I suspect you may be right. I've tried making this kind of pancake following several recipes on KZbin with the same doughy result. Didn't strike my mind that the problem might be my Malaysian AP flour which may have a different composition. I'll try making it for breakfast tomorrow.
