Any Blackmore solo is instantly recognizable. His choice of notes, his progressions, the phrasing and how he really uses the full lenght of the neck. It all makes him a unique player. There will be technically more proficient players out there, but nobody can come up with such melodic and lyrical rock solos.

An incredibly awesome solo from the great Ritchie! I must have listened to this solo a thousand times in my teens... moving me to tears almost every time. Criminally underrated, nonetheless Ritchie is the grand master of rock guitar. He is soooo unique and has given us some of the best rock music ever written and performed. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Thanks Jeff. Let me know if you're really getting ready to pull the trigger. I've been thinking about selling some guitars. Even though I actually really like this and the other HB (Silver Sparkle super-strat). Honestly, the guitar I really want to let go of is my Strat, but I have to keep it for personal reasons. We could chat sometime if you'd like. I really have to end some of the madness! :)

Awesome lesson man, definitely going to have to nail this one down. Question.... What's your honest opinion on that Harley Benton? Not sure if I want a MIM player series strat or go the Harley B direction..... Thanks
@MarkZabel4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick! The only ones I know are the Fusion Series. (This one, Fusion-T and also a Fusion ii HH.) I did reviews on each, so you can check them out in some detail. Fusion-T: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKPTqmakiKaohaM Fusion II HH: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKunn5iwhr-frrs Short answer: I like the guitars. The rep seemed nice, but it took 3 months to get the guitar. One was a good setup, one was a horrible setup and took a while to get into shape. (The truss was so far off, not even funny.) I don't mind doing a setup, as I feel I have to tweak every guitar I own. BUT, as far as the guitar itself goes, it's kind of shocking how nice it is. The only complaint I have is that the fretboards aren't rolled. The necks are superb. Frets - stainless and not gritty (some complained about that) and good ends. Finish perfect. No-name locking tuners ... good. And that Wilkinson trem is also really good. Pickups are decent - middle of the road alnicos. Switch them if you like. Bottom line: The guitars are good. The buying experience is not so good. Setup work may be needed.

Mark, request if you should be so inclined... Young Gypsy by Gypsy off their Antithesis album. There's some tasty Hendrix-like lead in it. If you're familiar with Gypsy, they put out some really good stuff in the early 70's.
@MarkZabel3 жыл бұрын
Some nice stuff there. I had only heard Gypsy Queen from them. Not sure why, but I think of them as 1/2 way between Hendrix and Skynyrd. Nice sound. "Young Gypsy" has some Hendrixy lead play. Thanks for the suggestion!
@blacksummerrain3 жыл бұрын
@@MarkZabel Their first album - self titled - and Antithesis are my favorites. Strong songs, great vocals and instruments. Not much on KZbin covering their music which is a shame. They spent some time with Hendrix when they were the house band at the Whisky A Go Go. There's a nice documentary about them here on KZbin for anyone interested.

Wow, that's pretty interesting. I hadn't planned on doing the structure of the song and rhythm. Let's see how this one does and I'll put the rest of it on the to-do list.

Thanks Mark this is awesome could you you do the same thing with Springsteens Live Phoenix 78 -Prove it all Night, it's best intro ever.
@MarkZabel Жыл бұрын
My pleasure. Making a backing track that will work would take a long time. Lots of subtle dynamics and speed up and down that only a band can do live IMHO. I'll think about how to present it. The notes themselves are not complex. It's in how it's played and in his working with the band. In any event, totally agree that Springsteen's intro on that is great!
