Even though she is trying to speak fast to get all the info in, I’m amazed at the amount of info I learned from this video. I am new to Insta Pot, and the pamphlet that came with my 6 qt Duo was not very helpful. I will def order her cookbook and I know I will rewatch this video over and over again. At 68 and someone that has been cooking since I was six years old, it is much harder to switch over to not only being plant based but learning a new appliance as well. 🙋♀️

@RainbowPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
Beans and curries are two my fave uses for the instant pot! For voluminous items like a big pot of beans or a big pot of soup, a natural pressure release is helpful, for at least 10 minutes. But for veggies or items that might overcook, definitely use a quick release!
@gateauxq46043 жыл бұрын
I know it’s basic but it makes beans and rice so easy that you can make several days’ worth and also learn different recipes to give them a wide variety of flavors. My favorite recent one is an African dish (IIRC) that has coconut milk and gives it a completely different flavor profile. The other night I made classic style but only had one can of tomatoes. I filled it out with a can of pumpkin, spiced it up (and was so lazy I used dried onion lol) then finished it with a couple fistfuls of kale that I heated by putting the lid back on and let the pot sit for 10 minutes to heat it up. Was sooooo good. I know that seemed like a lot but it was dump things->put on lid and set timer->did some gaming->came back a couple hours later and had an amazing dinner with enough leftovers for my roommate and I to have 2 more days’ worth of dinners.

Got your cookbook today It is so lovely the pictures are so pretty and I also love that there are many options to make dishes gluten free as I now have to eliminate from my diet for health reasons. I am going to dive into making dishes tomorrow and I am so excited my 8yr old son is really excited about the tofu cauliflower tikka masala. And thanks so much for including that cooking times and ratios omg that it's self is fantastic information I didn't have in my toolbox kitchen knowledge. I know I am going to love it.

Hi Kimberly, so nice my cookbook arrived today and happy that you appreciate the cook times and ratios. And yes, about 80-85% of the dishes are gluten-free or can easily be made gluten-free, so I hope you'll find lots of variety to choose from. And so sweet that your son is excited about the tofu masala - i love that dish!

Thank you so much! I hope this will give you some inspiration to try more plant based meals :) I have two stainless steel inner pots and one nonstick pot - super helpful for days where I want to cook a bunch of different things and not get slowed down with washing the pot lol

Yaaas! Thank you for cutting the spaghetti squash the correct way! 🤣 Drives me nuts when people say to cut it lengthwise. I die a little inside each time. 🤣

Have been thinking about getting an Instant Pot for a while, but your video's finally convinced me, plus Amazon Australia is having a 15% off sale. So I ordered the 6L today, along with spare seals. Should mention I also bought your ebook cookbook as well, although it's disappointing we can't get the spiral bound here. Loving your recipes and awesome videos. You are a treasure Nisha, thank you so much!

I am so excited by this video I've just seen! I have only just received my first ever Instant Pot, which I bought primarily so I could cook beans and pulses really... I'm starting on the MacDougall "Starch Solution" eating plan after the holidays and that means basically a vegan diet without added processed oils for cooking with. I''ve subscribed to your channel, of course, and liked this video. I can't wait to get stuck into making some great vegan meals to make me healthier while I'm keeping the winter cold out!

I bought an instant pot as I am the one in my family plant based. My wife is definitely the cook in the family and she would rather cook on the stove as she can taste during the cook. Anytime I try anything on the instant pot it sticks to the bottom and I get burn faults. So I frankly haven’t been very successful. I definitely don’t use any oil. Look forward to seeing your future videos using the instant pot to see what I am doing wrong
@RainbowPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
What are you typically making in the instant pot? It is a bit difficult though not impossible to cook in the IP without oil since the inner pot is stainless steel. If you’re using the sauté setting before pressure cooking and not using oil, it could be the cause of the burn because whenever there are bits of food stuck to the bottom of the pot, it has a tendency to burn, so deglazing the pot before pressure cooking is essential. It could also be related to the type of ingredients you’re using - thick viscous ingredients like tomato sauce can trigger the burn notice. And also if you’re not using enough liquid, it can trigger the burn notice as well.
