Raising up a sprinkler head that's overgrown by bushes

In this second part of the irrigation raising series, I'll show you the best way to increase the height of a sprinkler head that has been overgrown by shrubbery. It's common that when the sprinklers are installed the plants are small and eventually the plants get to tall for the irrigation heads to spray over top of the larger bushes. Now, you'll see how to fix this problem yourself for a couple bucks!

Nope, plastic threads will seal good enough for irrigation as long as it's not a main line.

Tape isnt necessary past the control valve. The line pressure doesnt require it.
