@Lynne Crisp Mrs Hofstadter played by Christine Baranski (I think that's right). I read an interview with Christine about how the BBT creators were just going to have her appear in one or two episodes. But they liked her work so much that she had appearances in every season after that. Christine said she loved that they wanted her back, and to expand the Mrs Hofstadter character. Great actress - so right for that part 👏

I’m gonna be real. There was potential and for a show that allowed a lot of sexism towards women, it actually would have been nice for there to be a gay member of their group who could step in and call them out. Raj had moments that would have been really awesome with the context of him being gay (such as a really nice moment between him and Amy where he helps her gain confidence), and his fear of women could have been a really deep moment about his fear that he wasn’t actually interested in them. Howard could have been the straight dude with a close friendship with him. I never saw them as a couple but just accidentally homoerotic and trust me, as a member of the community, this happens a lot with men who are straight but don’t fit into the masculine stereotypes 😂😂😂 I am just saying, if it wasn’t for so many people having this irrational aversion to shows being “woke” for not being strictly straight, Raj could have been a great LGBT character. Plus, it would be funny af for Jim Parsons to NOT be the gay one.
