When Group B was banned in 1986 because it was considered too dangerous , the cars found their way into a new World Rallycross Championship . We used to go to Brands Hatch to see these cars compete and were able to get into the paddocks to get a good look around them . Be great to see some on the channel guys , great video !

Nice video Colleen, reviving my rally memories, this car is a beast., nicely done... I've been around rallying most of my life, its the best form of motorsport in my opinion. I think when you say the Delta Integrale won 46 titles, its actually 46 World Championship "rounds", they won 7 World Titles (from my bad memory) in the Group A days. The Audi S1 never won a workld title, as Audi withdrew from Rallying after the Accident in Portugal in 1986 (which was a shame, such a cool car), but Walter Rhorl won a world chanpionship round in San Remo in 1985. The Delta S4 never won the workd Championship in 1986 despite their best efforts, that went to the Peugot 205, once the 205 EvoII came along they almost always outclassed the Lancia sadly, I really wanted Lancia to win that year, Markuu Alen is one of my all time fav drivers......I could go on.....hit me up if you do any more rally videos, happy to help with the facts and memories of which I have a lot!!

From what I understand the Porsche 959 was originally intended to be used in Group B but after Group B got the ax Porsche just designed it as a street car instead of losing their investment in it. They have a rally class in Russia where the teams use Lada Rivas that aren't modified that much and still use RWD. Of course being RWD and especially on dirt or mud tracks you can get some wild sliding or drifting in the turns.
