Since the U.S. never received the JDM STI GC8 due to importing laws, it has led to a huge desire within the North American Subaru community to convert & swap a stock Impreza RS GC8 into the JDM spec that we have all been neglected about. Kenji, the owner of this beautiful 2001 Subaru Impreza GC8 did exactly that and he goes in great detail of talking about his transformation car story.

I always thought GC8s look way better as 4 door sedans. Instantly recognizable as a JDM car, too. A 4 door WRX with a hood scoop screams the real thing, too many ringer coupes out there, now.

My god...this is one of the most amazing GC8's I have ever seen. I had a 2001 RS I bought brand new, it was my dream car. I lost it in a bad accident in 2005 :( I would give anything to have that car back. So amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I ordered all the parts I needed online. And since I’m experienced at wire merges, did the merge my self, 1985 awd rx turbo sedan with 06 sti motor and exm/ engine harness. I used my stock column from 85 and just took the key immobilizer and antenna. It fit in the stock location in 1985

Now that is how you properly mod out a Subaru. Nice, clean, and aggressive in all the right areas. Makes me wish I still had mine. One of, if not the best model Subaru has ever produced. If Subaru ever made a updated version of this model, sticking to the 2 door coupe base design, I bet they'd sell like hot cakes. Come on, Subaru! As much as I would want a GT wing on my '16 sti, I'd tell you to stay with your stock wing cus it looks sick on the 22b! The stock wings on the '15+ wings are enormous so I took mine off. But your stock wings fits perfect with your car

Great job Eddie! It makes me think, there’s so many horror stories of EJ motor failure that this car makes even more sense. A light chassis makes 400whp feel like 600whp would in my VA chassis. And it probably handles way better than mine could too. You dont need huge power if you have light weight...🧐 Btw, Regamasters look so dope on GC’s!
