One thing we ran into at Codemasters, is some pedals dont goto 0% and you need it to goto 0% for Regen to Work. now if you have a dodgy pedal or calibration, add a bit more Deadzone and Regen will work flawlessly again.

The hardest part is the linearity of the pedal. To get any speed, but not activate the boost (on cautious) I gotta accelerate CLOSE to the line but not go over. It's quite difficult to get into that position, while also focusing on the corner exit. Any small mistake and you will lose all your boost because, as demonstrated, if boost is active and you go below the line, you lose it all. It's quite punishing! I wish I could change the linearity of the throttle so I can fine tune my control over the boost based on my simrig's pedal.
@LBPreviews Жыл бұрын
If you have a dualsense controller on PC, you can set up resistance values on the triggers via dualsenseX. I'm going to do this now. This will inform your trigger fingers when you're on and off the boost. (putting this comment here for others, since it's useless for wheel drivers)

The annoying part is that in real WRC they can lift and even brake and they dont lose the boost, they just dont regenerate until the boost is used Example: They use 50% of the boost bar, they come up to a corner were they brake and when they go on the throttle at the corner exit they use the remaining 50% they had left on the bar. And then in the next braking zone they recharge again and the circle starts again
@chrismannik Жыл бұрын
This is how it should be and as it was in WRC Generations. There is no logic in losing the boost as soon as you let the throttle below the line. Where does the remaining energy go? EA needs to fix this and make it as realistic as it is in Rally1 cars.

Thanks for your vids. Been a long time lurker for DR2.0 Setups. Hands down the best I've found! Question: Why did they implement the boost so that once you go below the activation point that any boost you had left is lost? Do you know if thats how it works irl? Appreciate your videos and looking forward to some car setups :)
@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
So, the reason they did it is because that's how it works irl. What's not included in the game is the charge state of the battery, which is what irl drivers have to think about as well. So they may want to forfeit the boost in order to charge the battery for later on when they need it most.
@drnhara Жыл бұрын
@@RALLYTechnical So in Real Life if you mess up the Boost and only get it for a splitsecond your next recharge will be a lot quicker?
@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
@drnhara no, recharge length will remain the same. As you have to put the same amount of energy into it to activate the boost. irl drivers would do this to keep the battery charged.

In real life, when the battery is fully charged, the hybrid system would just pause if u lift off the throttle or brake and engage again if u used the throttle until the battery is empty. The setting now is just ridiculous and makes the hybrid system useless in most times.

I have already checked all the ways to make frametime more stable and in fact the only option that brings a lot is to reduce the graphics and block FPS using the riva tuner. ideally, when the card works at about 80%, then the frametime becomes stable and there are practically no cuts. so as usual, in my experience, only the option that works in most cases has worked, and the rest is unfortunately a placebo that works sometimes better and sometimes worse.

I used your setups for all of my DR2.0 cars, and idk why but I always imagined you were Brazilian or somewhere in South America. Hmm I just realized I can set custom profiles via DualSenseX, so the adaptive trigger puts up a gamecube controller'esque resistance right before the throttle will hit the boost values.
@schmid1.079 Жыл бұрын
It's quite odd how it works. The system seems to reward very aggressive throttle imput. I find myself missing out on the boost 90% of the time. But judging from some onboard footage, that seems to apply to real drivers too. Maybe the FIA just wanted them to run electric on transfer, without having to worry about 500+ hp cars on stage. :P
@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
Yes, it happens to the real drivers too. It's something we have to get used to using. However codies have made it a little easier with Patch 1.3 for the game. We can now have up to 10% throttle during regen. Which I believe many players will appreciate.

@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
You have to be 60-100% on the brakes to regen. 60% is the minimum. If you didn't regen, then you were also pressing the throttle. or, locked up.

So if you tune high braking force you never going to be able to recharge the boost? If you're never pressing the pedal atleast 60 %?
@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
Yes it seems minimum 60%, although you wouldn't charge on a high brake pressure because you will most likely have locked the wheels under braking anyway.
@xfixdonz Жыл бұрын
@@RALLYTechnical Could you do more testing to see how the braking regen works? For me it feels like, that the regen amount is dependent on time how long are you on the brake pedal over 60%, not how hard you brake. So in theory setting up the car to run low brake pressure could farm you more boost, than high brake pressure? Also I hate how the boost deployment works. That you loose all of your boost charge if you lift the throttle just a tiny bit under the boost activation threshold. I think boost should be like an energy amount, that you can be used depending how hard you press the gaspedal. For example If you press the pedal 100% you get 100% boost power for 1 second, if you keep the pedal at 50% you get 50% boost power for 2s. Like the energy amount would not change, just you could manage it better. This threshold/time way of using the boost is just wasting it.
@RALLYTechnical Жыл бұрын
@xfixdonz the regen is dependent on meeting that 60% threshold. That was shown multiple times in the video. I was on the brakes under 60% nothing happened. The second I go over the threshold of 60% it starts charging. So its not about how long you are on the brakes. Granted the brake pressure could require some testing as I was running the default pressure, but the likelihood is that 60% target will not change. So I will test that and get back to you.
