Great work thank you! I like to test myself setups but this is good starting point ! I notice in japan in high speed 4 left 4 right my rear was doing wierd stuff and I think it was combination of preload + bump division

Hey how do you feel new rally1? In my opinion they've changed also 2023 Cars without telling anything. The 2023 Cars now on default setups feel a lot different than before, feels like now every 2023 and 2024 Cars are the same car with different sounds and liveries. Also my setups don't work as before, i got a few WR and now is almost impossible to beat my own times with the same setup

John, Do you have any suggestions for changing the ASPHALT setup to make it a little more fun ? To allow drift on asphalt, something similar to what happens on snow or gravel ? I know this wouldn't be realistic and times would be worse, but I'm more interested in the fun of driving on asphalt. THANKS !

Yes, max out the rear preload and accel. Lower the braking front and rear on the diff. Ideally, the rear diff would be completely locked but you should be able to get it sideways at least. If you move the rear toe to the right you will be able to hold bigger angles as well.

I have a great handling while driving on all of those setups but I lose a lot of time in Kenya, I guess becouse of gearbox settings. It is difficult to get high speed on long straights and car seems to be very slow.
@RALLYTechnical22 күн бұрын
Hi, some things in the setups are highly specific to me. Gears being one of them, brakes being the other. We all have different driving styles and racing lines so we all achieve different top speeds down the straights. Getting these settings on point for everyone is practically impossible. For you personally, if you are struggling to achieve a high speed down the straights I would recommend lowering the final drive in the gears tab until you feel its right for you.

On gravel ( firm DRY gravel ) on the braking the car rear goes easily to slide. It because of the brakes are too strong on front wheels ??
@RALLYTechnical2 ай бұрын
Hi, so typically if the brake balance was set too far forward it would lock the front wheels. This would cause understeer into the corner, not oversteer. If you are experiencing oversteer into corners. My guess is you are experiencing this on the big heavy braking zones, then it's usually because you are braking too late into the corners, which then has a knock-on effect with how much turn you are applying and how hard you're still applying the brakes. Try braking earlier and straighter and the oversteer will disappear. If it doesn't you can increase the braking on the diff front and rear. However, this will be at the cost of the car's ability to rotate through the corners that you are braking at the optimal point for and cause the car to understeer on entry and the exit of the corners.

@@RALLYTechnicalthank you, sorry but I'm a complete novice, I've not much experience with car set ups etc etc. so tweaking with settings,I'm not sure what's right or wrong...
@squidsleap2 күн бұрын
@@nigeljones1969 month old I know but in case it helps, generally speaking the softer end (front vs rear) will have more grip. A lot is personal preference, I prefer a few clicks more rear bias on breaking for example but generally if your under steering soften the front ARB and springs a little or stiffen the rear. Work on the end giving you trouble, if the rear is stepping out don't adjust the front to fix the rear. Also, make sure you're setting up the car on stages you know very well. You need consistent times to know if the setup is making the car faster or not.
