I have to climb a steep driveway to get up to my road. My 21 PW has the surround camera package, and that front camera is awesome! I can see the road that I'm pulling up to while I'm looking up at the sky through the windshield. I get the same view going down the hill, also. You can feel that you're riding around in 8,000 lbs, but the engine has all you need. I went with some AMP research power steps, and couldn't be happier. Now, I'm thinking about 35's. No adjustment necessary, except the computer. They say it weighs the same as an African Elephant. It moves like one, too.

I love my Power Wagon and have made some major suspension upgrades but the one thing that really bugs me is if I put it in reverse and open the door to look behind me, it immediately shifts to park and I don't think I can turn that off. Very annoying. I switched to 37" KO2s and D rated (I think) so I could run the pressure at 40PSI not over 50 like HD tires call for. You can reprogram the computer and the TPMS monitor to accept normal pressure at 40PSI once tires are changed. You can also reprogram tire size to make the speedo work correctly. I had to take it to the dealer to do that as the 3rd party tools are out of stock but it works well now. I ordered the AEV rims to run 37x12.5x18 and ran 37's without modifying the suspension at all. That was before I upgraded to the Carli Pintop system. Maybe giving you some upgrade ideas is all. The AEV rear bumper also adds a ton or departure angle and super bright BHD backup lights. I think it looks way better on my truck than the factory rear bumper.

My old 2007 Chevy Silverado kept me perfectly straight when vsc was engaged,I had very little chance at going sideways on the highway,it reacted so early and fast unlike my ram. Wish I knew how to tune these trucks ,there definitely are some things I would change. Anyways love your videos,keep making them on anything and everything. I do have a question? My 3rd brake light leaks and I can’t for the life of me find a rubber seal anywhere in this town,any ideas? Secondly I noticed the floor/carpet was wet by the threshold for the driver and passenger door? Any idea where that could be coming in? Very disappointed in the leaks,never had this problem before. @@gregaustin8320 I replaced my third brake light with a new seal that I got off Amazon. I haven't checked but they should still sell them. They're cheap too! Awesome video! I'm impressed with the Ridgeline! I didn't know it came with a locking rear diff. That definitely gives it some cool points! I have a 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi, 4WD with 3.92's and the anti-spin diff, so I always enjoyed seeing your 1500 Bighorn content. Your upgrade to the Power Wagon is awesome though! I didn't know that the 11.5" AAM axle came with a helical LSD + locker until I watched your video. I thought it was the standard locking diff that becomes an open diff when the locker isn't being used. Always learning something new, like the whole BW 44-44 & BW 44-45 transfercase deal in the Ram 1500. Fortunately I don't have 4WD Auto on my Ram, so no clutches to slip!
@GettysGarage3 жыл бұрын
wow that's the best off road set up on those 4th gen truck you can basically get from factory! what kind of model is it? an Outdoorsman ? love that you have the anti-spin diff with 3.92's and have the BW44-45, very nice set up. But ya when I was looking into buying a power wagon I came across that info about the helical limited slip. kind of genius. RAM really did their homework on this truck and it seems to this point that they actually built a really capable truck. lol Hopefully one of these days my old man will sell his ridgeline to me because it is sneaky good off-road. he has a secret love for the thing
@deviantarsenal3 жыл бұрын
@@GettysGarage It is a Express Quad Cab. When I was looking to buy a Ram, almost every truck I looked at had 3.21's and an open diff. It took me a few months to finally find one with the 3.92's and the LSD, but those were a few options I had to have. I ended up finding this truck and apparently it had been ordered with those options by the first owner. So it doesn't have the 8.4" UConnect or the full center console and leather but it had those few things that I really wanted. Turns out, buying the Express had the benefit of having the better transfercase, because the low trim level Rams didn't have 4Auto, which was something I learned after buying it. From what I was told at one dealer, the reason a lot of the 4th Gen Rams came with 3.21's and an open diff was because the way they were ordered by the dealerships. Apparently there is something called a "quick order package" that has a letter/number code and comes with certain options that usually help sell the trucks and the 3.21/open diff combo are part of that package. Whether thats true or not, who knows.
@GettysGarage3 жыл бұрын
@@deviantarsenal Love to hear someone buying a truck for the actual mechanical options not just the fancy screen and heated seats! My 4th gen was exactly that! it was stock at a dealer and had 3.21 with an open diff. unfortunately the price was right and I had to swallow the fact that I had an open diff And yes to me having the better off-road transfer case seems like a better option but I guess to the average consumer having a 4wd auto option is luxury.

Ground pressure is a function of two things: Truck weight and the tire's footprint. You can't do much about the PW's weight but you can increase your tire's footprint by up to 40% by airing the tires down before going bogging but point taken. I put 12 1/2" wide 37's on my PW and haven't bottomed out yet. No snow here in Texas so I can't test your theory about deep snow drifts.
