Great video! I saw on another video where a 190 degree thermostat was recommended in order to keep the temp down when towing. My eco diesel is stock. Have you had any experience with lowering the temp? I live in a warm climate. Thanks.
@operationoverhaul4 ай бұрын
I think I saw the same video as well. I live in South Carolina so we are a warmer climate too. This customer said he did not tow a lot with his so he said just to stay with the stock temp and he was not having any heating issues. I have heard of people doing as you stated and that would not be a bad idea if you tow a lot in the summer.

Would this throw code P0183? If not could you tell me where the fuel temperature sensor is located ?
@operationoverhaulАй бұрын
This normally does not cause a P0183 and the sensor is made into the fuel filter housing if I remember correctly.

How long does the check engine light stay on after the thermostat is changed out
@operationoverhaul9 ай бұрын
Typically if will go off within 50 to 100 miles but I have had them stay on until you clear the code with a scan tool or obd tool

Did your new thermostat come with a gasket?
@operationoverhaul10 ай бұрын
This one did not come with a gasket. I did have to order it seperately.
@operationoverhaul10 ай бұрын
I can get you the part number if you would like.

I left my truck on for almost 20 min. And the engine never got above 135 coolant temp. It is about 50 degrees outside. How do I know if my thermostat isn’t stuck open
@operationoverhaul10 ай бұрын
@@jae23iii71 a diesel takes longer to get to running temp than a gas engine. I would drive it around for about 20 minutes to see if it gets any warmer.

What was the part number for that gasket?
@mitchellsittinger74302 ай бұрын
So, you're not going to even talk about or show this bleeder you used for the coolant?!?
@operationoverhaul2 ай бұрын
It is right in the top next to the thermostat. I can get you a picture of it if you would like.

Would this throw code P050E
@operationoverhaulАй бұрын
That code normally deals with just exhaust. I personally have not seen it related to a thermostat.
@sheldon14788 ай бұрын
But I just want to know if you have any Catalytic converter filter and the def system?
@operationoverhaul8 ай бұрын
This is a customer's truck and it does have the Def system and it does have to be cleaned from time to time

What was the engine code
@operationoverhaul10 ай бұрын
If I remember correctly, it was P0128.

What was the symptoms? I looked at a friend's today. No heat and not getting up to temp. Stuck open??
@operationoverhaul9 ай бұрын
I know he had a check engine light but he had it diagnosed somewhere else actually. So, I do not know what other symptoms he was experiencing. I can ask for you but it does sound like you have a thermostat stuck open.
