RAM Turn Signal and Puddle Light Replacement! Very Easy to do!

Thanks for the video. Spot on to my issue with my 2011. And thanks for being detailed enough with which bit to use to remove the screw. Unfortunately for me, the screw was rusted and the head snapped off. Good thing I'm getting new lights but will have to find a screw to fit it.

I did find that the mirror lights did not have a snug fit so now there's a whistle that comes from the mirrors when driving. Is there anything you can suggest to resolve that issue? Thanks.

Ricardo Corona The I my thing I could think to try would be some black RTV around the inside edge of the light then tighten sown real good. Mine fit snug so I wonder if you might be able to snug down a bit more.

So, tomorrow I will be replacing the turn signals as well as the puddle lamps. What a pain in the.... These guys must be doing something special to get those mirrors off without breaking them.

Thanks great video on my 2011 the dealer replaced mine maybe 7 yrs ago . They said the wiring was corroded if they go bad again Ill need new mirrors. If they go bad I will try to repair the wire myself or not have those lights. My spot mirror fell off 2 years ago I replaced it I know what you mean about that clip bracket . I don’t believe you can change it to stay on. There is a company that sells a kit to make them market lights. I don’t remember the name of the company though.

Yes there is a wire harness you can buy to make them stay on with the headlights

I don't think the aftermarket could be much worse. This is typical Chrysler quality (I have a 2014 Ram 2500). The 2003 chevy 1500 I have, it has 300,000 miles on it, the factory lights in the mirrors still work.

This was a great video. Got the work done. However, my blinker is still blinking fast; as if a light is still out. The front and back are blinking at a normal speed but the mirror light is blinking fast. Any word on that?

Just a note. While this worked for the driver side on my 2010 ram 2500 with these folding mirrors, the passenger side spot mirror reflective surface was not removable. The reflective surface broke doing this and I found out after popping out the plastic reflective that the only way mine could ever have been assembled was to attach the spot piece to the whole mirror via a screw, then Adhere the spot reflective surface over that screw. It did not have anything like the snap rings like you describe or like was on the driver’s side. Just a note that not all are like this. Odd that one side was and one was not.

one thing I always do when replacing lights / connectors is use Die-Electric grease. I have worked in Aero-Space for my whole adult life.

I have a 2014 ram 1500 5.7. When I bought the truck I had just regular stock mirrors without the signal or puddle light on them. I swap them with towing mirrors which come with the signal and puddle light. Later I found out that these mirrors need to be programmed with a code if the truck did not have the option when purchase so the puddle and signal light can work. Well, the puddle works fine just the signal does not. The truck does have all the required adaptations for the mirrors connections. Do you think I still need to program them or maybe the signal lens is burned out? Like I said puddle did not need the code after all as other videos had mentioned.

I can’t imagine the lights would need programmed. If they do you could just run wires to them from the turn signal circuits individually.

The temp sensor is mounted underneath so it won’t affect the install. I don’t know what light you mean.

The whole assembly arm is connected where door panel n dash meet so panel does need to come off

Damn I did this and busted my mirror. I hope I can get another and the 2015 is different though . I have a plastic retainer that the screw goes through to secure light and all the ones at Autozone and oreillys won’t work .

My trucks turn signals only turn on when I hit the flashers or the signal switch. But they won’t stay up as courtesy lights. Do you know if they’re supposed to? 2018 ram 3500

You have to buy a wiring kit to make them stay on with your parking lights. I’m not sure who makes them but if you google it you will find it.

I bought the puddle lights you used here and when I replaced my old ones the puddle lights do turn on but barely... it is like the smallest little bit of light... haha I can barely see any light on my hand at night when I hold it under the puddle light! Any idea what may be causing that?

Barak Frank If they turn on then that means you have power so it’s either your ground has a poor connection for the light or the LED’s are bad.

Barak Frank You can either run a new ground to the lights or you would have to track the wires down to where they ground. You would need a wiring diagram for that.

Tried this on my 2010 ram 3500 and the little mirror that's supposed to pop out, refused to just pop out. Pulled harder and harder tell the little mirror shattered and the whole ball came out with it. Now I'm scared to try again on my 2014 ram !!
