The rampage games are always fun for like 10 minutes and then it gets super boring because its the same thing over and over.

I never played the first one as a kid. R2 was my first Rampage experience. I actually think its great. I played this for years alone and with others. Fun times…

This game brings back memories of my and my neighborhood friends all getting together on Saturday afternoons at one of our houses and playing 4 player N64 games. Goldeneye, Mario Party, Mario Kart, WCW vs. NWO and Rampage 2. Such good fucking times that even to this day, I still remember! I still have my N64 and I need to dust it off and get it working so I can have it for the drunken party nights.

If you remember correctly Glenn, the original Rampage World Tour was a popular rental for me and the bros, so when we discovered the sequel at the local video store, we instantly begged our mother to rent it for us.....and then we never rented it again. Even though the game was still the same bit of fun the original offered, me and the bros just couldn't get over the fact that you can't play as the original 3 monsters unless you unlock them. It was like not being about to play as DK or Diddy in DKC3. I did end up purchasing this title for my N64 but only because I still haven't found a copy of World Tour, which I still find odd since nearly every one of my friends as a kid had a copy of that game.

With a little TLC this game could've been truly great. The concept is fun and engaging, but they really didn't do anything in the sequel outside of what feels like a re-skin. You're spot on here with the review.
@hotdoggington69623 жыл бұрын
Loved these games as a kid but I agree they don't hold up (besides the fantastic art by Brian Colin). They really should've been budget titles. You're so lumbering that there's no avoiding getting damage chipped away at you, and there's no variety in strategy. Would've been a million times better with more variety, different strategies for taking down different types of buildings the quickest, and better movement options to be able to potentially avoid damage.

I don't know why Midway doesn't approve four players when it comes to these games on N64 now if you look at a game like rampage total destruction for the GameCube and Wii that's the only rampage game that I know that has four player modes. Anyway great review man

Wasn't htere a third one through time as well? or wasn't that released on the N64. But these 90s Rampage games were made by Game Refuge who made stuff like General Chaos. They also did a kickstarter for a General Chaos sequel last year, but it failed. :( Shame really as they do have a unique style to their games.
@davidclough503110 жыл бұрын
You know I think the third one that you may be referring to as far as rampage I think that was for the PlayStation 1 I'm not quite sure but I think
@thehorrorhound65755 жыл бұрын
Larry Bundy Jr you’re thinking of rampage through time on the Ps1 and yeah it was pretty fun, I punched Pegasus out of the sky once. They would make another one called rampage total destruction which I had on the GameCube and like all the others it was fun with friends but you didn’t really wanna play alone but total destruction and through time saw a much larger roster. Trough time saw you being able to use 8 playable monsters, and total destruction had 40
@JaredLowry10 жыл бұрын
Do you think there's another room on screen for four playable character? The original arcade had and three and that's just dumb reasoning on their part if they want ed it to be only three players. I agree with you there should have been more players on screen.

I’m a little disappointed you didn’t point out that there’s a 7th character in this game beside the 3 new ones and the 3 originals, and didn’t mention the alien invasion, the trip to the moon, the destruction of planets, the romance between Lizzie and myukus, I guess you didn’t get that far to see there’s actually a story this time eh?

This game looks like something that would of been on the Atari Jaguar vs the N64 from a visual standpoint. The arcade version is cool but I'd prefer Neo Geo's King of the Monsters series myself and not the SNES or Genesis ports only the Neo Geo home and arcade ports. Nothing is better than that when it comes to the fight of the millennium with the ultimate gargantuans that ever walked the earth. 💪😎💪
@SuperDavidBrothers10 ай бұрын
Again, much like the 1st game, I was expecting this game to be a 3D action packed game and not a bland average game (much blander than the 1st game). Also, I don't think it was worth it for Midway to translate an arcade game to a successful hardware console known for popular 3D games like Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie all because it just translates terribly. Both of these games just shouldn't have been a thing at all.
