You've never seen a driver as out of control as this. Watch as he rants nonsensically while speeding and weaving through traffic.
"In United States law, reckless driving is a major moving violation that generally consists in driving a vehicle with willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property. It is usually a more serious offense than careless driving, improper driving, or driving without due care and attention, and is often punishable by fines, imprisonment, or the suspension or revocation of one's driver's license. In Commonwealth countries, the offense of dangerous driving applies.
Reckless driving has been studied by psychologists who found that reckless drivers score high in risk-taking personality traits. However, no one cause can be assigned to the mental state.
Depending on the jurisdiction, reckless driving may be defined by a particular subjective mental state that is evident from the circumstances, or by particular driver actions regardless of mental state, or both."

Thats because its not 14 years, its 14 years minimum before he can apply for parole hearings, during which he would need to convince them that he's no longer in any way a threat to society before they would consider releasing him on licence, A licence that would last for his entire life and means he can be recalled to prison to continue serving that life sentence at any time . Its exceptionally rare in the UK that anyone on a life sentence is released when the minimum term expires, Mist will apply for ,parole multiple times over a number of years and never get it. Even when they are they aren't "free" There will be parole restrictions they will have to abide by for the rest of their life and if any are violated its straight back to prison.
@septembersurprise5178

@@Fordmister Gavin was released from "a stint in prison" the day before this event. Was he on parole? If so the parole restrictions seem to have had little or no effect on his actions, he didn't abide by any restrictions. Perhaps no parole was necessary as his sentence was up? Seems as though something was amiss, and that to a High Degree!

I have bipolar disorder and can say it is the most terrifying thing you can imagine, for the sufferer and everyone around them. You will do EXACTLY and ANYTHING what feels good to you at that moment in time, regardless of safety for yourself and anyone around you - you feel no pain, have no fear, and lack any sense of judgement whatsoever. I won't tell you my story but I'm lucky to be alive. I understand that this guy did some terrible and horrific things and killed someone, and I am not excusing it AT ALL - but I DO completely understand it. The guy just severely needs help as he's obviously gone through a lot of shit

This is why optimists have it wrong. The one guy who was killed was getting his life back together and had vacation plans... I wouldn't use the word "miracle". Neither would the surviving family of Terry Radford. I'm also positive that no investigative body of a religious organization that sanctions miracles would either. it's very possible the story about him de-stabilizing while unmedicated in jail is true. I shouldn't admit to this but I had an episode once where I was suicidal and wound up in a "psych cell" with a plastic mattress. They never got me my meds, for days, in their psych ward. Every guard falsely promised me that a doc would see me any minute. When the police dumped me on the street alone, in deep withdrawal from several heavy prescriptions, on Monday, I went to an overpass and idk how to explain it but I really almost jumped. I have always been a morbid type but in retrospect it gives me chills how close I came that day. That's a jail in a "blue" district in the US. It is a murderous system that only works on people in their right minds. Ancient history for me, but this wicked setup is carving up others every day.

I feel like the fact this man went on a rampage like this _immediately_ after getting out of prison should say more about how ineffective prisons are at curbing crime than I ever could. Edit: Since it's an argument multiple people have made in this reply chain, I suppose it's worth an edit to address it so I won't see so much parroting. Claiming that letting him out of prison was the problem as opposed to prison itself is a ridiculous notion because its logical endpoint is advocacy for permanent imprisonment for literally every crime that can land a person in prison. Even disregarding that, responding to someone who is very clearly mentally ill by throwing them in an institution that not only separates them from the ability to receive help but also exacerbates their mental health issues makes them reoffending an inevitability.

@@joshhitxoriginal9367 I was just using him as an example of people abusing the system, but from the other end (as the provider instead of the patient) as he's gotten a rather dedicated fanbase out of merely regurgitating other's work. @@thewingedpotato6463 Since I don't enough about him to deny or take this statement at face value I will say it's 50/50 for the time being; he's still only a part, an end point of that broken system; the majoirty of medical students aren't usually taught about mental health treatment or diagnosis methods, unless you specialize in it. It comes down to the fact that mental illnesses have got to become normalized and not so harshly criticized. The treatment shouldn't be as expensive as it is either, just because either seen as a "niche" practice. But these are not easy to fix problems and pointing to one bad actor as a representation of that ideology can bring the more...exuberant fans to rally against you. Though I suppose that's more or less true with just about any content creator nowadays huh?

That was some pretty impressive driving for someone that might have been high (at least the first half). Most of the time I just see people going into ditches after almost flying into several cars and then narrowly missing a school bus or something. Driving fast isn't particularly dangerous (within your skills and road conditions etc), its distracted or impaired driving that is outright dangerous like texting. I don't think that person looked high at first, their reactions were pretty fast. Towards the end after the first wreck (you can't whip the steering wheel like its mario cart), they were probably on drugs but that first half that was too precise of a run.

Drugs don't always make people sluggish
@jakegarrett8109
@jakegarrett8109 Жыл бұрын
@@mikecurry6847 Well sometimes they do. At first I thought this was a reply to a comment today where I stated I drove about 100 mph faster coming home from work than going to work (because allergies were slowing my response times down this morning). If I had to take some strong allergy medicine though I would have just called in sick, because some of the over the counter allergy medicines make me so out of it and delayed, that there is NO speed at which its safe when you're brain has like 1 second lag analyzing traffic. So I agree that SOME drugs to some people don't make them sluggish, like Coke is a lot different than weed. However even over the counter stuff, its can be enough to make things dangerous.

@@jakegarrett8109 The guy in the video was on amphetamine and spice, the amphet would have sped up his concentration and reactions considerably especially his muscle memory and also taken away any fear. The effects of spice were probably dulled somewhat by the stimulant but added to the god complex that made him think he was invincible.

Very true. Also I'll add spice has become a catch all term for many different synthetic drugs often made in low tech illegal labs. They bear little to no resemblance chemically to the old legal high branded spice (or cannabis again nothing in common chemically with these synthetic drugs) and can cause some really extreme reactions. The only commonality is that the chemical is soaked into a carrier herbal smoking mix. You can see many spice users crashed out unconscious or in psychotic episodes in any UK city.
