Actually don’t push Balthasar. Attack him, and counterspell his summon (which can only be done if you pop off without talking to him). Then just dogpile him because he’s actually pretty weak.

I just sniped him with Eldritch Blast from atop the last floating platform before you drop down with him and the Nightsong. Kept doing it till it finally triggered the battle, but it was free eats by the time that happened.

This most recent time through, used Shart to start the trial and then sent in Astarion (who is assassin/gloomstalker) to sneak attack on her mirror image. Down in one turn.

If you don’t have a strong character, have your whole team sneak up behind him and polymorph him then take turns shoving him off the cliff, or just surprise him, cast silence, and then use haste or haste spores to fireball him out of existence.

The Balthazar fight was such a pain in the ass, I ended up sneaking up on him to be as close as possible, cast silence, and weirdly enough, he didn't summon his undead even outside the silence spell, so it was a free kill

i usually have shadowheart do the unequip thing alone and separate her from the group when she puts her blood on the plate while everyone waits outside. then i lockpick the door (its a dc30 i think? but i equip the graceful cloth that you buy from lady esther) then i toggle group hide and sneak attack the lone unarmed shadowheart that's waiting up there

During the final battle I forgot that I could summon my allies.. I was like why is this so hard!?!? Then at the end I finally realised why. Before then I forgot to bring Shadowheart to the temple so she left my team and Wyll died because I forgot to save the demon lady. And the only reason I didn't have a certain wizard blow up is because I forgot he existed 💀 honestly I have the memory of a goldfish（´～｀)

Just kill Balthazar after your first encounter with him. I can’t tell you how much better this was than trying to fight him in the shadowfell. You were going to have to kill him one way or another so might as well not fight a horde

What you are describing is a spiritual thing, not a physical one so even from a role playing perspective there is no reason for Shadowheart to do it alone as no one except her would give a damn about Shar and her rituals.

Why avoid killing faux Tyr paladins? Trader. You can keep stealing all her respawned loot. (Another option? Revivfy the trader, though haven't tried it yet). (Note: Mods are awesome)

And then I discovered you can't even shove off the spider matriarch when I started Honor Mode either. At which point I decided dropping Minthara would no longer be my strategy for Monthara.
