Oof... I'm not even sure what to say about this video. Yes, Stolas' horny meetups with Blitzo and that funny phone call at the dinner table got me feeling pretty confident that this show will never commit to making Stolas' dysfunctional family feel like a serious source of tension. But I also feel like I may have been way too harsh with my critiques on an episode that hasn't happened yet. *Mistakes, corrections, and one dumb complaint:* 1. I have been informed by multiple people that Moxxie's ringtone is from _Phantom of the Opera_ which is exactly the kind of neat personal touch that I THOUGHT that ringtone was missing. Turns out I'm just an uncultured idiot xD. 2. It's possible that Striker was calling Moxxie weak, not Stolas. It's hard to tell for sure, but it would make a little more sense in the context of the scene. 3. At 8:46, I accidentally added a sin when I was supposed to remove one. That was my bad. Just remove two sins from the final tally and you'll have the actual sin count. 4. People seem to be pretty hung up on the fact that Stolas never explicitly promised Octavia that he'd stop cheating on Stella at the end of Loo Loo Land, as if that was what the main issue was. To be fair, I _definitely_ could have worded this better, so I'll take a small L on that one, too. But the issue isn't the specific detail on whether or not Stolas is breaking his specific promise to is daughter: The issue is that the general tone for this subplot is probably (again, this is still speculation) going to keep on being played for laughs at every turn except for the specific times when Viv suddenly decides that it's a serious conflict and that we were supposed to be taking it seriously all along. _That's_ what's really annoying me, here. 5. And finally, here comes the dumb complaint: I had a feeling that people would be annoyed with me over the "horses do not eat meat" sin since it is a demonic hell horse, therefore the standard rules of equine diets obviously shouldn't apply. But I wrote the sin anyway and now a bunch of people are pointing out this obvious fact that I obviously already considered before writing that sin.

She wasn't introduced as "Hey, this is my trans older sister Sallie, she's trans. She discovered she was trans when she was __, did you know she's trans?" she was introduced as "Yeah. This is my annoying older sister" Being trans isn't her whole thing. I'm also so glad she isn't a perfect angel being who does no wrong. I'm sick of people thinking that good representation is taking a person from a minority and making them absolutely PERFECT, and doing otherwise would be abliest/phobic/racist etc. She's just. there. Definitely agree with you on Stolas and Blitzo’s relationship. I like the idea of them becoming a thing because their dynamic has so much romcom potential, but if Viv ever DARES to pair these two together then they better give us a good reason on why they SHOULD. Their arrangement is consensual, but it’s also toxic because both men use each other for personal gain. There’s Stolas, who uses Blitzo as a coping mechanism, a means of escape from Stella’s wrath, and then there’s Blitzo, who only needs Stolas for the book to keep his business flowing. Not to mention Blitzo views Stolas as an annoyance rather than a fuck buddy. So yeah, they need to work a lot of their issues out before they can get us to root for Stolitz. Perhaps show them bonding over something they have in common? Maybe next ep who knows.

Thing is we’ve never seen Stolas show true compassion to Blitzo, all he ever talks about to him is how hot and good in bed he is, Loo Loo Land shows that Stolas can be genuine, but he was never genuine towards Blitzo imo, I’m not saying they can’t be together, but it’d have to be a while until I could call it a great ship
@vanessaheart35293 жыл бұрын
@@IcyDiamond yeah it’s kind of a mystery if Stolas’ feelings for Blitzo are secretly romantic or strictly sexual. Hence why I said that their relationship is still dysfunctional and we’d just have to wait and see if they go anywhere. Tho I mean, he likes Blitzo enough to lend him the grimoire, which is incredibly illegal, according to Stolas. I doubt a Prince of Hell would risk his wealth and status all for a ‘lowly imp’ unless his infatuation with Blitzo goes deeper than just sex. Stolas could easily find another demon to play with if he wanted to. He doesn’t HAVE to lend Blitzo the book because it’s HIS property at the end of the day. So I do believe he’s genuine towards Blitzo to SOME extent. But it’s overshadowed by Stolas’ spoiled rich brat side. Imo they’re prolly gonna address that sooner or later 🤷♀️
@sara.p323 жыл бұрын
This is my personal theory I believe that show is slowly hinting Blitzo falling for Stolas but these are very small hints for example Millie said along the lines in this episode “The Prince is my boss boyfriend” either one or two things are happening either she’s playing for a joke or she actually believes this however this gets more interesting is that Blitzo didn’t say no or yes .Another thing is that when Striker comes into the screen asks about the book and how he got it , Blitzo told him that he is fucking him but he gets a little flustered when he gets into detailed. I believe that it’s going to be one-sided and Blitzo how he is, he is going to try deny his feelings and try to get over him by the fact that Stolas using him as a sex toy. But I do believe that Stolas can have feelings for him too but there need to structure and build up for this relationship to work.
@Itariatan3 жыл бұрын
@@sara.p32 The thing is, Stolas does seem to have genuine feelings for Blitzø. He flirts with him all the time (with no regard for social standing), gets genuinely sad when he doesn't pick up the phone, actually enjoys their time together, and all around just wants to be around him. That's not exactly how you'd treat a sex toy. The thing with Stolas is that he probably thinks there's nothing Blitzø wants from him other than the book. And Blitzø has a massive inferiority complex, and sees Stolas as way out of his league.

The Loo Loo Land's ending wasn't cheating conflict resolution at all tbh... It's clear that Octavia is affected by Stolas' cheating on Stella, but it's actually her fear of losing her father that was in the focus of the episode. What Stolas said basically meant "whatever I do, whatever my relationship with your mother has been/is, I will never leave you", it wasn't a promise not to cheat on Stella again, which is why there was no "character development" to reverse to begin with. I think it was obvious that Stolas' speech was hinting at the fact that his relationship with Stella has never actually been a functional one so I don't think "fixing" everything by going back to Stella would be a good idea. And I don't really wanna vilify Stella but it's also hinted that she's not a good mother in the beginning of the second ep.

I’m kind of on the fence between agreeing with you and agreeing with Kyle (can we call him that already?)... It _does_ seem like many plot points jump back and forth between being played for laughs and played for drama...
@blackswanintro91433 жыл бұрын
@@viveleshistoires4874 yeah, that's a valid concern. But I also think it's kind of normal for a show like that? I mean, if that jumping from comedy to drama doesn't seem jarring, if it serves a purpose, and if they don't interrupt serious moments then it's fine. Basically, if that's _appropriate_ for the situation. Personally, I didn't think the 5th episode's ending was jarring (I didn't even think about it before watching this vid honestly): obviously, Stella calling Striker in front of Stolas and Octavia was done for a joke but it also seems to be a good set point for further plot progression and tells us more about the characters, it's quick and straight to the point. It also lowkey confirms my thoughts about Stella not being a good mother (by absolutely not taking her daughter's feelings into consideration) Anyway, I hope I understood you correctly. At least From Loo Loo Land itself we know that they're not afraid to get serious when they need to, I just hope they keep that approach later in the show..

To bo honest I don't agree with you about the entire Goetia family part. Listening to your words made me think that it maybe depend on how each persons interpretation of what is happening, because for me Octavia isn't traumatized just because of Stolas affair. It is the part of it, but we learned that since she was a child she was afraid that Stolas will leave her alone. She said that when she was a child her parent didn't hate each other, but from Stolas words we can guess that he and Stella were never in love, so it's not like Blitzo came and destroyed their family for fun or something. Octavia did say that Stolas ruined their family, because from child perspective it looks exactly like this. It's kind obvious that no one spoke with her about the situation, the only thing she knew was what she heard, being it Stella's yells. Octavia was worried that Stolas will run away with Blitzo and will leave her. Stolas said that that won't ever happened, but that it's. He never said that he will stop seeing Blitzo, so for me them being together again isn't something 'weird'. Let's say that the episodes are creating consistent story. After Loo Loo Land there was no Stolas for 2 episodes, maybe he spent that time with Octavia, cleared the situation and seeing what is making her father happy she gave him green light? For now only creators know. We saw Via only at the end and she didn't say anything, so we don't know what she feel or think now. That being said, it was interesting to see that story from different point of view, so thank you for that!

@Falcon-doing-doodles3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, you have pretty valid concerns for Stolizt as a ship. I do think Viv will at least try to work it out as it's a big part of the show, and I'm hoping that we'll get a bit more continuity between episodes (we wouldn't really need that much, since it is a more episodic show) Also, addressing why Blitzo wouldn't want Stolas dead even if he didn't like him, in the case of Stolas's death, his possessions would most likely go to his family, and the grimoir being the most important of those, it would definitely get noticed as missing. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch for someone who knew Stolas to realize him might have given the book to Blitzo, and considering we're talking about the Ars Goetia, they probably wouldn't even think twice about killing him and looting the office to search for it. I'm not saying that's 100% what Blitzo was thinking, but I think it might be something he's aware of to a degree

If Blitz acquired the book, er ~grimoire~, by theft, considering much more powerful demons than imps have vested interest in using it regularly/properly, it'd cause more trouble than the current arrangement by a lot. I do understand your concerns. It jumps from being comedic and dramatic quickly. I understand why Stolas still sleeping with Blitzo, despite the emotional moment from Loo Loo Land. Octavia saw that he doesn't mean to be bad to Octavia and that the promised he would never leave her alone. Her major concern has ended by the promise her dad gave her. I think she's ignoring that stuff by blokcing it out, but ist no longer afraid. She can lice like that. Great video, always enjoy them. @tnc73993 жыл бұрын
I had a few things I wanted to focus on because you had a few problems. But Stolas being unfaithful is because of the book deal. And the thing is, Octavia is more worried about not seeing Stolas anymore. And at this episode they are probably going through the divorce planning so she probably isn't too affected. And the fact she probably doesn't care until her parents ignore her. If anything, this episode set in the foundation episode two lacked. And with future knowledge, it is easier to expect. And the gag episodes are not used in the main story episodes. Like 1 and 4. Yes it isn't perfect, but it is something one episode cannot say.

@@hot_cocoa009 but it makes no sense in the context of the scene. striker would know that demon royalty is powerful, seeing as he is fully aware that only angelic weapons can kill them, so there'd be no reason for him to think stolas is weak. he is also cut off by moxxie, who is standing up for himself against striker. if striker was meant to be talking about stolas, moxxie cutting him off and daring him to finish his sentence makes no sense, because moxxie has no reason to care about what striker says about stolas. additionally, just before loona arrives, moxxie says "who's weak now, bitch?" which, again, would make no sense if striker had been talking about stolas. moxxie is standing up for himself, not a random prince that he's said like two sentences to

And you were right about how are using Octavia’s drama being for Comedy instead of being seriously damaging is the team’s way of taking a natural approach for this kind of stuff. Stolas confirmed to her that he would never leave her no matter what. He didn't promise to make up with her mother or break up with Blitz. Octavia is blatantly not giving a shit because she's a teenager and that's exactly what teenagers do. They try their hardest to ignore and not react to everything traumatizing so they don't break down which is why Octavia only started crying at the end of Loo Loo Land because she was suppressing and ignoring everything until she couldn't anymore. After that, she was clear and capable to go back to pushing everything down and pretending everything is fine and doesn't completely break her. So yes, it may just be for a joke but it's also exactly what a teenager would do.
