Hader gives a masterful performance during the action scenes. This is where we see Barry in his comfort zone. He has no emotion on his face, only calculation on how to get out of the situation alive and on top. Killing is second nature to him or it is just his nature. Showing emotions, being human is unknown territory for him and it's scary. So, throughout the season, we keep seeing this side of him pop up to save him from harm, physically or emotionally. And he hates himself afterwards or regrets his action. Kind of like how an addict acts. He is superb in how he portrays this multifaceted character so effortlessly. Praise is always thrown to some shows as being the best that TV has to offer with some performances being heralded as the best ever. But more attention should be paid or should have been paid to this show and Hader's performance in particular.

This is simultaneously one of the most uncomfortable and hilarious scenes I’ve seen in a tv show-

I like how when he points out the assassin, they look at him not questioning why he’s so sweaty looking like he’s about to shit himself

The second I saw Fred Armisen I couldn’t stop laughing and knew immediately that he was one of the hitmen referred to in the beginning of the episode and that Barry was in danger

Really cool that Bill managed to get Fred into his show and not have it feel like a forced cameo.

I'm so glad the Rain man soundtrack was finally given the recognition it deserved. Every time I watch that movie, all I could think about was whether people actually noticed how good the music in it was when it came out.. It's just so damn underrated.

I live in the scene, how he is being explain to in crate detail how he’s been protecting people for 20 years, and essentially saying that berries in such good hands just as Barry moments later, identifies a terrible threat to him in the room itself, and none of them are keen to seen that threat at all, and they all end up dying because of it. That’s pure comedic genius if I don’t mind saying so. And as far as Bill tactically removing himself from the room as he’s shooting, that’s incredibly great attention to detail. Even in serious gun films, they advance towards the target while using a range weapon. It makes absolutely no sense.

Finally finished watching all of Barry this past week and I really like how Fred Armisen looks 190% like someone who has a bad poker face and knows he’s got a shitty hand. Like Barry could see something was up a mile away. Helps sell the dark comedy of this scene

its crap.......There is something so fake and so ungrounded with this whole show. All the Groundings and Second City and SCTV and Saturday Night Live do simple comedies really really well. But they really fail at dark comedy like this. They always use inappropriate expressions, they over act, They strip away the realness required in the scene. And you never get carried away in their performance. Especially Bill Hader. You never watch Bill and forget who he is. you are never watching the experience of an assassins life. you are always watching Bill Hader playing an assassin and you are always reminded that its Bill Hader playing an assassin.

I keep coming back to this because of the way Barry looks around when the cop says his name. It’s just too good.

Barry's action always reminds me of the chase scene in Raising Arizona. Hilarious chaos and the lead is the only one that seems understand how crazy things actually are. It's like they're in the eye of the tornado.

There are mag dumps, then there are MAG DUMPS From a fundamental perspective, I love that Bill or the showrunners have at least had some light weapons training that really ties it all together with his line of work and backstory. Amazing series; epic scene!

Barry is just such an amazing show. Top 5 shows ever directed in my opinion. It literally has everything you want from this genre. It has super sad moments but also hilarious ones with people like Hank and Kristobal. It shows Barry being an absolute badass and a cracking shot, but also that he has serious flaws in his game like when he got fucked up by the kickboxer on multiple occasions. Bill Hader has some serious talent, both as an actor and a director, and I would not be surprised to see box office movies with his name by them in a couple of years

the face he makes while backing up and shooting is such a badass cowboy kinda scowl especially with the bruises and bandages. such a small detail but one of my favorite parts

You know I saw this scene online about a week before I started watching the show. Despite that, I STILL laughed my ASS OFF at it like it was new. Ridiculousness at its best!

Okay, so I know that, diegetically, Barry's busy squinting at Fred's character trying to figure him out but given how bemused Barry looks in this moment I also desperately want to think that Fred just randomly walked onto the set, one day, and Bill only noticed he was there in the middle of filming the scene - like "Fred?! What the ever-loving heck are YOU doing here?!?!" Honestly? Fred would! 😂

This is why I love this show the constant unrealistic realism that is the reality that would progress out of situations like this. Plan all you want humans and shit happen and that’s reality life isn’t a James Bond film no matter how much I love each and every one of them in chronological order.

If the pen gun had worked it would've actually been a really good hit. The guy in the ceiling i think was supposed to clean up the guards and he did his job perfectly.
