Sootch did a video on this gun over decade ago and he consistently shot low as well. However he gave a good review. However when it comes to 45 ACP my choice all day is the Glock 30 .

Overall, I actually really like the quality, fit, and finish of Kahr pistols but the 45 caliber guns are definitely pretty brutal to shoot. They are incredibly compact though and are a great value for what you get but they aren't a gun you want to shoot all day at the range. However, the 9mm pistols are awesome.

The promag 1911 8 round magazine fits in my kahr cw45 just fine and shoots just fine as well. But just like u said not all guns fit everyone the same.

You are right, they do not and it is important for people to understand that.

This pistol has single post combat sights and sometimes it takes a little bit longer to get used to them. I have a rubber slip on the grip, which helps with recoil. Double action revolver style is the best way to operate this pistol.

Thank you for sharing your insight on this pistol.

Good morning, Jason, I hear you rag on Saint John's calibre. But you know a magazine with 6 rounds of 45ACP is equal to 18 rounds of 9mm. Now the other followers of your channel will expect me to say that. If it was my gun. I would get the heat gun out, strip the gun and go to work on the beaver tail. Using some fine files and the heat gun I bet you could remodel the grip. If we were allowed them here, I would love to have a go at it. And that last target proved that the gun would shoot when used correctly. I give the reviewer a 3 🦘🦘🦘 for the review, He would have gotten a 5, but he whined a bit. The gun gets a full 5 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘 Cheers, love the channel. 🤣😁😂

LOL! Thank you Andrew! I also look forward to seeing what you think of my thoughts on guns!

With a 6 round mag and that trigger youre possibly better off with a 6 shot 357 revolver
@thetexasgunvault2 ай бұрын
I think that is a very good point.

I really liked and preferred my Star PD 45 over my other compact 45's.

I would like to try one of those out one day.

I have one. Your review is spot on. Shoots low and left. Trigger sucks. Feed problems. Grip really sucks. I don’t have any issues with 1911s , my ruger LCP (which replaced the kahr in that role) are any other one shot. Seriously considering selling it. I objectively hate it.

I would too. I am sorry you had that experience with it.

I appreciate what you do honestly, you do a good job and apparently you even respond to feedback and are willing to revisit so kudos to you. I've only encountered your reviews maybe 7-8 times. I am sure glad we live in the golden age of firearms with such an amazing abundance of firearm to choose from, because you're a gun guy, an now, I'm a gun guy and virtually every gun you love, I hate and every gun you hate I love...😂 SMH. So, I'm really glad there are so many choices or one of us, maybe both, wouldn't be a gun guy. I spent 22 years in the Marine Corps and during that time, for me weapons were fun, must just tools. After I retired I didn't start shooting/carrying until I was 50yo. I've been getting 1 or 2 a year since then and I try to hit the range at least once a month. Some things that need said: 1.Did you know that in the years BG (before Glock) people were actually taught to squeeze or pull a trigger (a long trigger) while keeping good sight alignment and good sight picture, and that they were supposed to be "suprised" when the gun fired? That was a good thing. 2. Did you know that the term trigger "press" didn't enter the gun-universe until the 90s? Before that it was always squeeze or pull, never press. 3. Until the last 25-30 years the ONLY people who used the term or cared about "reset" were competition shooters. The average gun guy didn't give a rats.... Here's what I know. If a guy started shooting with single and then double action revolvers, then moved on to DA/SA Wonder Nines like, the steel Smiths 39xx, 59xx, 40xx before the world went Glock-ified then those guys can pick up a Glock, and XD a polymer M&P and after a mag or two they can shoot, or a Kahr or a Revolver just fine out to 20-25yrds. But, guys who started their gun life post Glock in the plastic striker fired world pick-up a Kahr, a revolver, an all steel Smith etc, and all they do is complain about how horrible they are... I guess I'm saying old dudes are just better, much more versatile gun guys😂 It ain't the Kahr, it's you. (Except the hand hurting thing, that's legit. Sometimes it just happens body type and ergos don't get along. I know plenty of guys who get bit by the Browning Hi Power... I never have.) People are just different. I'd love to see how well you shoot a SCCY CPX-3/4.... I bought one outta curiosity and it was on sale for 144 bucks😂 Everybody hates that 9-1/2 pound trigger. I usually make one ragged whole at about 8-10 yards. If you could get good with a SCCY, you should be able to shoot the Kahr in your sleep.

Jason: Guns are like shoes. No matter how they look, not every gun will fit everyone’s hand. In your hand, this gun is a disaster. Period. Don’t worry about it. I like my Kahr K9, it shoots well for me and I love it. It reminds me of the double action revolvers I had to train with back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was a young law enforcement officer. When the K40 models came out, a co-worker and I each bought one. He hated it while I hated the chambering. He sold his and got something else. I sold mine and got the 9mm version and loved it.
@johndilday18468 ай бұрын
Just to add to my long winded comment: I have tried the .45 ACP model P45. It shot well for me, better than the K40 I used to have but got rid of because it was uncomfortable to shoot a lot. I was very tempted to but a P45 as a BUG but decided against it as the K9 had a better feel when carrying concealed. The CW models of Kahr pistols are their lower budget offerings and may not have the same feel or trigger as the K models. I wouldn’t carry one as a primary weapon due to the low capacity but as a BUG it’s better than a double action revolver. Don’t feel like you’re less capable just because your buddy has a gun that you can’t shoot well. Just get what you like because life’s too short to worry about what someone else is carrying.

The advantage to no wall is that it’s harder to pull shots low left due to the wall causing misalignment just before shot breaking. But I know most folks like a discernible wall. My gripes with kahr pistols: 1) trigger requires complete let out to reset, which leads to short stroking under stress, 2) very short trigger reach - perfect for small or female hands but way too small for even my medium-large sized hands and 3) sketchy customer service such that Kahr has tried to charge me for their own corroded faulty parts. I’ve been done with Kahr / Auto Ordnance since about 2019.

45 auto attends to hit low being a heavy round and i usually find bullets thaying on the ground in front of the target even at 25 yards away.
@thetexasgunvault3 ай бұрын
There might be a little of that. 230 grains is a heavy projectile.
